I remember once during college days....I had an exam and one day I almost drowned trying to reach home from college....due to heaviest rain...and the very next day I almost missed the exam....thinking the exam must be postponed....no at 8:45am sun came out....I got there half hour late....and by mid day it seem'd there hasn't been any rain for months....that is karachi.... Sir It doesn't matter where I live....the thing is that its a very bad time for the whole of karachi.....also the most embarrassing time in the history of karachi....with the two calamities combined....power & rain...its very bad for the economy of karachi.....the bread winner of pakistan,afghanistan and bangladesh....with a very heavy heart I have to negotiate some kind of rain emergency tax relief.....for karachi....or it wont be able to survive the global economic reccesion...you may be aware that industries are shutting down....moving out....if this continues...Karachi will cease to be a Mult-i-national bread winner and turn into a mega luxury city...... so to present my case I have to be very honest about the rain....and the damages....a short outburst or a drizzle does not really qualifies as the Karachi rain....it has to be slow and steady for atleast over an hour....only than the water level on the roads begin to rise and overflows the drains causing flooding everywhere.... @fasee sab…..sir I see it everyday…people in karachi have become suicidal because of power crisis…..in this rainy season most people in our neighborhood are keep their generators on the rooftops….this I believe is absolutely suicidal….rain water and dampness collects around the generator wiring and may cause accidents….fatal accidents any time….so be very careful…
