But then again all the young are not intellectuals, they dont have much to celebrate and when they do, they dont know how. I saw young and old standing hours in queues not to get but to give. Youg girls from this city supporting back packs and trekking mountains to deliver food and medicine. It was perhaps the proudest I have felt as a Pakistani and a Karachiite. Time and again this city has shown what could be achieved by by human endeavour and enterprise. Time again it has been pushed back and snubbed. Still it refuses to die, still its full of energy. Its not only its commercial success but also the various blood banks, kidney centres and relief orgs all financed by its citizens without a cent of govt money that make this city unique. However, there are those amongst us who cannot see beyond their noses.
