Great article jew-bhai. Rickshaws are fun, but ride is uncomfortable due to Karachi roads being in bad shape. They just need to make rickshaws of Karachi less noisy and less chhichoraa looking.

Btw, in 70s there were stories about MA graduates driving taxis in Bombay and Madras.

Beauty, really lies in the eyes of the beholder….if some can find anjuman, rani, musarat shaheen attractive…they can find watter buffaloes hot….then there wud certainly be people out there who love such heidious ugly paintwork called as art work.

Just take a second look…don’t u think a 10 yrs old can do a better paint job.

Well, rickshaws are fun. Pakistani rickshaws are little bit cheapy and chhichoraa looking…all the chamkeely goaTaa paTTee. Indian rickshaws are bit bigger and look more decent (or people will say less chichhora.
I have seen rickshaws in China too. They were really ugly.

I enjoy rickshaw rides except Karachi roads are so bad that it loosens your anchar-panchars.

They have been talking about banning rickshaws in Karachi for a while now. They (known as auto rickshaws in india) are going to be banned in many Indian cities soon.

I don’t think they should be banned. They are a nice savaari and cheaper. Airy and havaadaar. Karachi rickshaws should be made just less chichoraa and cheap looking, engines should be improved. I know that woman in Karachi feel safer in rickshaws than in taxis. Aurtou’n ko rickshay may aghvaah karnaa zaraa mushkil hotaa hae.

I admit rickshaws can lead to bit uncomfortable situations too…like the time when balma was riding a rickshaw in Defence (DHA, the slummy and slimy part of Karachi) and this donkey stuck its face inside the rickshaw. I had my havaa bund instantly keh saalaa kaheen kaat nah lay!
