Win Hearts, Give blood

Sometimes children bring such sanity of things that leaves adults speechless. I felt the same, when I went to the KGS organized blood donation camp “Lifeline” today. Win hearts, give blood, save lives.

    master yoda donates blood on daily basis to karachi mosquitoes….or rather they take it involuntrarily…just like the indirect taxes taken form me in shape of GST, WHT, FED, PDL and blah blah balh

    yoda donates blood twice a year more or less…but only in agha khan….franjkly…i dont belive the authenticty of any school or collge donation media event…full of crap

    they dont have the proepr check n balances….not proper doctors even…only paramedics…pretending as doctors..or incapabale doctors.

    they dont check in detail whetehr the guy is capable to give any…all they do is to race to collect the most to show in there numbers.

    on of my didtant fmaiyl memeber gave blood thrice…just in his stupidness…and they were unable to detect that….needless to say what serious health advaerse effects he had to bear in his life for his adolosecnt adventure, i dont wna go in details….just…the school level or collgee level blood donation fiasco shud be stoped.

    u wana donate it..go to a proepr blood bank…agha khan…or fatmied….i dont knwo bout fatmid perosonaly…but i guess they wud be okay as they are a big setup as well

    @kd

    Thankyou sir jee…impressing u is a feat I rarely achieve…:)

    It Must be one of those few moments of sanity I have left untainted from daily furustrations, corruptions, excesses, unjustices, and resultingly accumulating passive anger

    balma, I found out KGS does this every year.

    master yoda, have you been to Karachi Grammar School? Do you know that they follow all blood donations procedures to the T? I know positive thinking has become rare in our nation but at least assumptions should be put to a limit. The cause most probably a lot of pent up frustration.

    MB, Thanks.

    Wasiq, Definitely and thanks.

    @ afreen.

    wish i could have shared the naive optimism of yours…i really do.

    had i not seen or witnessed what i have.

    had i been used to get impressed by flashy school, college or universities, if i had got my half dozen degrees and qualifications form faizan-e-madina or jamaiye-banoria and not forign institutions.

    had i trusted procedures like they were sacro-sanct…never to go worong…if i had not bein enlighted enough, or burnt enough to know what procedures are…had i not been the one entrusted with making polciies and procedures, security manuals etc etc.

    i would have been impressed, had i not known what industry best practices really means.

    had i had the same level of situational awarness capabailties like yours, i guess i wud never have been furstrated or angry with society at all.

    wish i could have shared the naive optimism of yours…i really do.

    Abay oyae Yoda kee aulad, with your spelling mistakes and typos and so on, it is best if you don’t write so ‘rhetorically’!
    mujhay uljhan hotee hae!

    and, afreen, how can limitless assumptions lead to pent up frustration?

    Is there a typo or just bad sentense structure?

    “….but at least assumptions should be put to a limit. The[y] cause most probably a lot of pent up frustration”

    @Master Yoda
    @Kabirdas

    I’m part of the KGS Lifeline group of volunteers and would like to inform you that this was our 17th successive blood donation camp. All our camps are organized only through the Aga Khan University Hospital & Hussaini Blood Bank, each alternating every year.

    The donation process begins with a KGS Lifeline registration, health history questionnaire, brief physical including BP and pulse rate, and Haemoglobin/Anaemia test if deemed necessary by the Doctor.

    If, and only if the donor meets the requirements, 1 unit (about 500cc ) of blood is drawn; for people who are on the lower spectrum of the weight requirement, a lesser quantity of blood may be drawn in a smaller bag.

    Only sterile, disposable equipment is used throughout the donation process. The technicians who are drawing blood along with the other medical personnel are all regularly tested for communicable diseases and are certified technicians from the AKU or Hussaini. Disposable gloves are used and changed between each donor. All these precautions are strictly enforced to ensure a safe and clean donor environment.

    Rest assured that all technical matters and steps are undertaken by the trained personnel of the AKU or Hussaini.

    Hope this helps to allay your reservations regarding the whole process.

    Best regards & we look forward to your 500CC next year :-)

    @ celsius555

    glad to know you enforce strict compliance….i perxonnaly know bout agha khan…as i said…coz i donate blood around 2 or 3 times a year ( mostly its after 6 months usulay )

    i dont know bout husani blood….but have a fiar hunch it wud be drastically less than agha khan for sure……same as fatmid…big name but very less on the standards.

    wish you guys best of luck….as for me…i always go to the source directly…..why KGS when i can give the blood directly to agha khan.

    although i have my issues even with them…..in old times they used to give us a voucher that whenver we might need blood they wud give it for free….as a gratitude for the blood we gave….now…they give a shit…..no regard for the donor….sir ik juice ka dabba milta hai….i am expectign next time they might charge me 15 rupay for the shezan ka dababa….or they might switch to froto or pakola…..
