MQM and Aafia Siddiqui – Principle Stand or Political Marketing

Disclaimer : This post is not in support/disapproval of Aafia Siddiqui nor it discuss her case. It is purely written in the context of the famous missing person issue. Many of the missing/disappearances occurred in Karachi. Very few people know that missing person issue was one of the main reasons of tussle b/w Cheif Justice’s and establishment/Musharraf , along with Wardi/Steel Mill issue. [read here here]

Visiting Aafia’s family was a good thing to do by MQM but this one was not an ordinary visit. MQM’s support for Musharraf needs no explanation therefore when we read the below news item we have to see it in a larger picture and so, here, we failed to find an important aspect i.e. MQM did not offer apology for its full support to the former president’s policies (at least policies w.r.t WoT). This then forces us to think if this was more a “Political Marketing” campaign than any REAL admission of guilt. Since, of late, the whole nation seems to be behind Aafia Siddiqui, was this visit aimed at cashing public sympathies PLUS to counter JI-JUI effect who are trying to hijack it completely?. There are dozen’s of missing cases from KHI (and many hundred from Pakistan) , why this case only?

I found it important to inform the reader about the magnanimity of this issue by pasting few lines from Musharraf’s book. A tip for those who are interested in reading Mr. Musharraf’s book : Read it in ENGLISH. After realizing, his commando emotions went slightly over limit in English version he has removed some parts in URDU version. Below is a scanned portion that has been, i have read, removed in Urdu version. Read it and decide for yourself if MQM should not make a public apology for fully supporting MUSH foreign policy blindly for 9 years. Will a public apology not be more objective and help better its image on NATIONAL LEVEL issues but also clean at least one stain from its past.

And the news item :

@chichoora saab…..janaab izzat maab chichoora saab …you are right in a sense…I find it very discriminatory to use the term working women….harassments should be taken seriously by the employers, bosses and also co-workers…and not the gender of the victim…for a good and healthy working environment…merit and experience automatically gives you the respect you are hoping for…

you wont belive it….but in our whole group…inside senior managment i was the one found the most suitable to draft teh women harrasment policy for our company…..nad as a matter of fact…i did did a pretty neat job….so now that it is in impementation phase..i would be the one in the panel judging hearing and prosecuting the harresment cases……( siding by the victim yet envying the culprit)….lol……life is stranger that art..isnt it…..muhahahaha

so tell me since every tom dick and harriet in the company knows you are “the” police man…don’t you think most of the time these low life employees of yours group conspire scheme and come with a concocted allegation of office harassment just to get a hearing from you and the bosses….how do you deal with them….because its a catch 22 situation ….you have to side by either of them….and being your bosses/group employee….you can’t say…hey I have seen this in a hindi movie….you two are working togather…
how many times do you remember a culprit fired and the victim rewarded with incentives and promotions in your group without merit after your verdict….lol

we are not all hormone frenzied honry men ready to bang some booty anywhere we want…do you think…??….not everyone outthere is like me you know…:D:D

most of em keep it nice and polite..the traditional paksitani hypocritical ways….they leave the dirty talk and sharing sexual fantasies for the co-workers for the luncnh time or when they hangout outside…another typical pakistani thing…nothing special about it.

as for me..well i wear a lot of hats…so as spiderman says…”with power comes responsibilities”……

so as i said…no matter how much i wud envy the culprit….or wud love to be in his shoes….i wud still side with the victim..and do the best to help em out all dat is in my capacity.

no bloody dick shud have the right to harras a women whoz out there tyrign to earn a rizk-e-hilal for her home…not even those who are purely sluts who are out there just to disturb the office envirnoment……even sluts shud have the right …no phaticher shud be allowed to tackel them and abuse them just for being aslut…..that in no wya gives them some sort of liscennse….dtas teh crooked morality of the matter that jhakki sees…..i typed it down before my next personality takes over and changes the coments all together…lol

sir believe you me..I am not the swimming pool type…all my life I have somehow kept me self away from it….I even turned down the offers to become a sea scout and the membership of creek club….during my school and high school days…it was only recently when I started to walk early morning on the beach from McDonalds to the S&P village and beyond ….made me realise…that no swimming pool could have ever been big enough for me….
I am very sorry if I have caused you to feel ashamed or offended about any job related matter….I was not trying to judge you or cause you any further mental distress that you may be having as it is doing the job of a company police man…from your reply I feel that you have never thought of it the way I do….and that is one of the reasons why I am not in your shoes….so just forget what I said…and keep showering your blessings on the culprits (readers in RSS please note this has been strike out.thanks) victims of your on job sexual harassments .

well….i m not the swiming type either..:)….i love water n water sports like crazy….but yet never got the chance to learn swiming….so i just stay within the kiddie swiming pol, or water parks or beach…no gogin deep,…although in my ol naujawani days….watching baywatch made me angry at why i didnt learnt the secrt art of swiming….i cud have made a careear change…

khair khuda jo kerta hai sahee kerta hai…if i wud have made that careear change…i wud have got a reality check shock…when i had to work not with pamela anderson holy madison or yasmeen belithe…but papu panwari, ilyas sheedi, shahid baloch and such bearded pan thooking type on local beaches…:D:D

as for being the policeman…naaw….its just not my type…..i am an artist…not a brute…so i can never properly do thta]]at…that i have learnt form my past experiences….so i play to my strong sides only.

i can design a perfect gullitone…yet i cant see a head rolling while it bleeds.

so i just design them….and give the keys and workign manual to staff and go away with eyes closed most of the times….only coming back if some serious design or meintenace issues come…..otherwise i delegate it

Finally some sanity & common sense, well done guyz. Most of the media was driving me mad with unfair bias towards her story!!! ofcourse as you have correctly put it she is no angel, bring her husband & son in & we will have the full picture. As far as Jamat Islami is concerned they’re on US/Saudi pay role since there inception in Pakistan so the last people who should be preaching us. Sad fact is JI has always protected terrorist, even recently they failed to condamned even a single suicide bombing & just blamed either government or Army & their foreign policies. How unpateriotic! go & move to Saudi.

ok, I am fairly new to this blog, come back to my home city Karachi after nearly a dacade of avoiding it due to fear of being shot or rob then really got home sick & now trying to adjust here or will be going back depends. Mind you encounter even more fundos courtsey of Saudi riyal in the UK where I have lived for the last 20 odd yrs (thats told my age). I have kept in touch though by reading daily news etc books with internet its easier, recently finished two books Mush’s In the Line of fire & Ahmed Rashid’s Taliban Militant islam, oil and fundamentalism in central Asia. Both relevant to current situation. Always trying to find the answer, to be honest I’ve got pretty good picture now & what you were discussing you guys seemed well informed. No really we are part of a bigger game NWO, we need to dump USA/EU & Saudi & join the other side ie China, Russia Iran SCO. Anyway you already know that, hope & pray our government does.

  20. Allama Pajama (unregistered) on March 5th, 2010 @ 2:53 pm

well…we are all not that much informed…but we do make a good impression of being one..:D:D

as for the NWO, protocls of zion, 9/11 consipracy , fake moon landing, area-51, wheter baloons, weaather bombs, fake volcano erruptions…..are you one of those weirdos who belive in all that crappy pot holes lame scripted conspirasy theories…??

if yes…then welcome to the club….you have to sign here, here, here and there….two NIC attested copies, one cheqe of 10,000 in my name…and you are a proud member of sculls & bones (karachi chapter)

Sorry I went to sesta, part of being in Karachi, just woken up.
I do my checks & recheck before believing any theory presented. Basic lesson I have learnt from expeience so “they” do is feed some rubbish & garbbage to discredit the actual truth by the masses. eg aliens etc.

NWO is for real, using western sources give you guys couple of examples:

The Battle for Baluchistan: Iran Nabs Top NATO Terrorist with Help from Pakistan:Webster G. Tarpley February 25, 2010
On Tuesday Feb. 23, Iran announced the capture of Abdulmalek Rigi, the boss of the terror organization Jundullah, which works for NATO. The capture of Rigi represents a serious setback for the US-UK strategy of using false flag state-sponsored terrorism against Iran and Pakistan, and ultimately to sabotage China’s geopolitics of oil. The Iranians claim to have captured Rigi all by themselves, but the Pakistani ambassador to Teheran is quoted in The Dawn as claiming an important role for Pakistan…

In the past year, in response to emerging independent science on the 9/11 attacks, nine corporate, seven public, and two independent media outlets aired analytic programs investigating the official account.

Increasingly, the issue is treated as a scientific controversy worthy of debate, rather than as a “conspiracy theory” ignoring science and common sense.

This essay presents these media analyses in the form of 18 case studies.

Eight countries – Britain, Canada, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Russia – have allowed their publicly-owned broadcasting stations to air the full spectrum of evidence challenging the truth of the official account of 9/11.

This more open approach taken in the international media – I could also have included the Japanese media – might be a sign that worldwide public and corporate media organizations are positioning themselves, and preparing their audiences, for a possible revelation of the truth of the claim that forces within the US government were complicit in the attacks – a revelation that would call into question the publicly given rationale for the military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

The evidence now being explored in the international media may pave the way for the US media to take an in-depth look at the implications of what is now known about 9/11, and to re-examine the country’s foreign and domestic policies in the light of this knowledge…

If look closely its all factual, not theories any more now.

    @ IRZ

“if look closely its all factual, not theories any more now.”

yup…and i do….i also belive if i look carefully on the daily newspaper i can decode diffrent messages the CIA, NSA and Mosssad are trying to give me, to hire my servcies which i am not intrested in giveing as living a peacfull life after a colorful life as a assasin, which i obviously dont know due to my boat crashing and me gettign a head injury and lossing any memory yet retain my charms and lethal skills, which wud help me catch a hot chik that i wud date, and build a cotagge in the jungle wid….

seocndly….as i said….as i said..i am also a pakka conspiracy theorist….i belive in all of the above….plus in addition…i do belive thru vacinations, the mulinational pharmacetuiclas ( which are run by aliens) are tagging use witha DNA coding system, before the real invasion begins.

i am a “the arrivals” first edition copy whcih i watch every i dont forget.

i also have a book of elders of zion..but probelm is like bibel they have so many editions and versions…cant recite all fo them you know.

jokes apart..( some really really werid guys do give abad name to the REAL conpiracy theorits) and poeple dont pay attentions to the real guy who is telling teh truth.

for example..tkae the threry that 9/11 was done my aliens…i mean..gimme a break….even i …who is eternaly paraniod..high on my sedatives wont belive such crap.

but otherwise i am a fully qualified and respectabel member of conpiracy theory alumini.

i really belive there is someone out there to kill me…
some one taps my phone calls
the stars are little camer lights…some satellight is montiering me all the time
every vid or metirail i download is also wathced by some freak agents
i am not me…i am just a dream…of some guy in a chemically induced coma….i wud vanish once that guy awakes.
when i come out of the car…some one behid some windows watch my i run hurridnyl to my house and close the door before i exhale.

    “the arrivals”

well, to be honest, my siblings forced me to buy the dvd pack and watch the whole thing….to make me convert to scientology or whatever religon they are following.

for the siblings efforts to do so, i did appricate the effort of the writer/director/drama-nigar/producer/ actors etc etc etc.

dil rkhany ko kerna perta hai.

you, my firend is a totlay diffrent story….i redcue your membersip to the club form amember to a 6 month probation…for liking such a lowly ameturish hack job.

here is my take on them what i felt when i saw it.

“its a mile wide and inch deep only, full of good intentions yet lacking technicaly inept in finnsinhg qulaity…..they were like a good chess player who played well yet didint knew how to check mate ( i m talking bout my own chess games hehe)

in my opinion…they put too much fodder on there plate , more then they can chew….

it was full of crappy SENSAIONALISM…..they were good and pointing figners yet never taking to you to a higher level of awarness….thats why it was a miseabrly bad hack job.

being a perosn, who wasted years worth of hsi life reading , wathcing, anylasying such conspiracy theoris..havgin alot of my own takes on them…

each topic they coverd in 10 mintuies segments…i have wathced hours and hours worht of quality matewrial..and read refrence material on… wud never say they were good…they were pethetic at there best.

yet its good flimsy masla amovie for the idiotics who dont kno wwhat conspiracy theorsies are.

so in the end…..i do agree with you…the art is to filter out the crappy stuff form the uqlaity stuff….but havign spent so much time in bewteen them…i knwo how hard it is….some times the real stuff gets filtered out…some times we approve of some crap which becomes a but fo many a jakes.

  28. Irz*kia*hei (unregistered) on March 6th, 2010 @ 11:44 am

    Allama P

I share your sentiment, the reason its short is because it was made for youtube, in their defense they are young & new to this so try to ignore their obvious flaws & prodution/ direction weaknesses & concentrate on their material & messege which is unique & punchy. I also watched a lot of their other stuff related to secret socities/ masons etc some are difficult to diegest & need further looking into, just because we are new to a subject we can’t completely reject it on the basis that we don’t understand? We are intelligent people here who can’t be fooled by main stream propaganda, we can look beyond that & see whats happening.

My perception has changed a lot when I visited USA & Arab coutries few times seen & experienced some of those things in person. I do love to read & research whenever I can, I do read a few daily newspapers incl. China, Russia, Pk, UK, Iran, UAE EU etc.
easier way to check many world newspapers.

    @ Irz.

hmm..guess you took me wrong here sir, i was not talking bout the crisp print…or why it was on a hndy cam and not on any professional equipment or why not edited properly.

i love things for there soul…dats why i ruin the experince of others when they watch movies wid me…..i love art or low budget movies if they have a storng point or story or acting.

in this case….as i said..they just point out figners in air, saying , “looks it feels mysterious”….well that can be aeye opener for a new guy…but for guys deep into this shit…they already now a lot and lot more then them already.

as i said…i apprictae there efforts, but resrtic it to that….i wont claim them to be excellent producers doing revelations..which in both areas they are not…..there are alot of guys doing briliant work much better then them.

and best of all….they dont take you to a higher level of awarness, which is the higest quality for a hi class creative work.

i appricate work that can shake my belifs, rock my world, break taboos, push you to a higer level, change your preception of the world.

sadly….they failed us in all those areas

challo, at least you watched it, anything out there you can say is touched you in amateur scene you recommend, as most of my friends (in Pk, ME, europe & America) really admired Arrivals, we are talking about many very well educated professionals with varied back ground & countries of origin.

Hollywood V for Vendetta comes to mind there are others but can’t think.

Wasiq bhai if your whole immediate family has moved out of pk & why would you want to buy here, for Qabza group as you’ve said yourself. Each of my Rishtedar who will tolerate gets few days of me so I kinda rotate & don’t oversaty my welcome plus there are hotels, where I initally landed to but… I know few cases who had bought here in the past & lost it to either their own relatives or had qabza by Kraydar etc. you know the usual story.

what story, that when people dream of moving back to their homeland, take first step with the help of their relative buy a plot, relative thinks they are made of monies ££ $$, besides they will never move back so either take over the plot or let them build the house then take over. Other senario involves same dreamers second attempt with going solo, only this time land mafia or Kraydar do the dirty, I personally know few people in family & friends who are theose dreamers times a plenty. Me, I am just a realist, some of my relatives are really nice decent people, others are typical greedy type who are after one thing or other you can tell. Its sad that they think I won’t know their ill intentions, how stupid to treat someone like a child, you play along just for entertainment & learn human behaviour.

@Irz****……story not good…maza nahein aaya !because its about the day dreamers…shaikh chilli’….real people when they choose to return…they return buys property from a genuine seller….and move in…its as simple as that just like anywhere else in the world….
now shaikh chilli comes to have fun here…..but people here say…just to be nice ..oh why don’t you come back….your parents need you…your family needs you …your city needs you…your country needs….and they begin to inflate like a 20 cent balloon…yes we are thinking….we must….we should…we will….and maybe they do think of returning after ten 20 years….but they would never say that….and if they ask a family member to look after their property…that family member usually takes the responsibility hoping they would come in a six months or at max one year…so when they don’t come…that family member usually feels he is being cheated and when somebody feels cheated the first thing they wanna do is punish….
It is not fair to expect any member of your family no matter how closed he or she is to you….to look after your property for a very long period of time…without proper legal agreement and remuneration….if time is money for you abroad…maybe…maybe…it could be same here as well….plus the living conditions for those living here are not ideal as you may have noticed….or maybe not because you are too busy learning the human behavior just for entertainment…because you can!

anyways, as they say…Business is business and a cup of tea is a cup of tea….so my friend….enjoy your stay here and don’t fool around with the Ill intentions holding people…play safe its better to be safe than sorry…

I rearly get angry nowadays since I passed my 99th birthday or was it 69th can’t remember, with so many wives & uncoutable kids who can (following exapmles of the great ones in Pakistani history like mullaomar&obl, o ya 4th one is revolving so my harem can be maintained)

I now see wasiq’s dilema & justification, whatever rocks your boat my friend its a free world, however I am not buying any properties until I am pretty sure I am moving back permanently with my parents/ family (all wives & uncountable kids!) will need a farm house or a small village for them.

Talking about Candy (US term), toffee (Pakistani) or sweets (British) I brought 1.5 Lakh worth (UK is bloody expensive) for all my Rishtedar/ cousins only to find could have bought same from many stores in khi proabably at less than half the price I paid in the UK!! chalo you learn things if you visit more often you don’t get ripp off, which I intend to do, hopefully.

    wasiq bhai

there’s a big ? ethically/morally speaking (leaving being a Muslim aside) if someone has trusted you, you just help yourself with the Imanat or you set the terms in advance or just refuse in the begining if you can’r don’t want to help. But by agreeing to help/ assist & then damaging their trust is totally wrong, immoral & criminal in my book.

Though two or 3 or 4 of my friends & relatives have played cleverly or being lucky in that they bought at the right time (when land was 1/3 or 1/4 of current value) no one snatched it off them & now they are property/ home owners in khi or where ever they have bought.

“sir how can you be so sure that the khajoor from any local market is not that which comes from near the holy places”

    sir i am a khajoor lover….n things i love, i get inside info….
khajoor from saudia is available in pakistan…but at abnormal prices…while irani khajoor can be bought for 150-200 kg you wud get ajwah and anbar at 1800 to 2500 a kg in diffrent seasons.

so i dont think any phatichar wud buy a 2500 a kg khajoor and distribute it to his relatives….besides i know many kmhajoors by its name just by seeing it.

lol at the world cup scenario…it hit the right cords…..i rememeber when my house had the only telephone in whole muhallah….

at times when teh over was going, i used to run to the phoen ke shayed ami abu hoon , khariuyat ke liye….

and what i get to hear…” woh me shalu bool rahi hooon, aap ke teen ghar chor ke aunty rani rehti hain na un ke beti tina ke dost….pls us ko bula dein gay…jaroori baat kerni hai…..”

at first i used to enjoy it, as my only opurtunity to have a conversation witha female living human…..but after some time i got to knwo i was being exploited as being a mere dakiya…a sala phatichar postman…..and i just got rude and rude…till the time came…when i just heard any shalu, allu, or khachalu….i wud just slamp the recevier on the cradle and go back to my TV watching whaterver i was wathcign in those PTV days

  45. بستنی (wasiq) on March 9th, 2010 @ 3:04 am

@A pajama saab….I am so glad to hear that you are an Arabic Dates lover…..when my parents returned from hajj centuries ago…they brought a large hand bag full of dates(khajoor) of four different kinds…..honestly I did not the two you have mentioned…because since childhood I loved those American Saudi dates packed in small dinky boxes soft and sweet with or with the seed and Almonds….washed dried and sealed packed…..
so the first thing I did was that I issued a Magna carta …that non of these packets will be distributed to anybody under any circumstances….since I was very young and they felt guilty for leaving me behind here in a full house…..they agreed…and maybe thought I am stupid ….even today I have no idea what kind of khajoor they pack in those boxes but given the choice…I’ll pick it….and I don’t think that its as expensive as Ajwa…and you don’t have to go to the empress market of jodia bazaar for it….easily available in most super stores all year round…..shukran jazilan

    @ wasiq

well i am also a blind date lover..but also love other non arabin origin dates….am not a religious fundo you kow..who wud pay 2500 a kilo for a date just coz its form arab farms…..i wud rather save the money to vist teh place instead someday…lol…

i wud recomend u visit exmpress market u will get to know the names of aroudn 2 dozen varities..lokking so suspiciosuly similar.

some of them you even dont know they existed….pajama got to see the so mythical “nur” khajoor for the first time there as well…

do you know..all the khajoors we eat are female khajoors…..there are only a few male khajoors which are packed seperately for medicinial purposes…which are used for male potecny purposes….

next time when i go there i wud be buying a few of the nur khajoor aswell….as sum shareefa and anbaarz…..irani khajoor the best you can ever have are in the middle fo the market…you have to dig really deep to find the best of the best
