Good that flood tax is also imposed on every thing. Please sacrifice good meals and iftaris at hotels for donating for flood victims. It is shameful that 5 children have died of hunger. Fear that time when you could be in the same situation !

@midhat and vinnie …..have you guys not seen the next years plan….its brilliant I must say…absolutely brilliant….after all somebody has to feed Angelina Jolie’s six adopted kids….and also help the UN make some money for its running expenditure…..

Fear that time when you could be in the same situation !

And you know if Prait-atma saab is in a similar or worse situation….what the world is going to say…. Achaa hoya !

  13. بستنی (wasiq) on August 25th, 2010 @ 2:21 pm

oh no….now i get it….why you are so angry with them….no no no no they don’t serve you the food on table…you have to get up and get every thing your self….from the dishes lined somewhere in the hall….they just come and collect the bill….its called buffet…not bhokay…try it again some time you will love it…some of the dishes are very expensive and difficult to make at home…and you can’t get the professional taste if you make it yourself at home….but still if you feel like it I wont stop you from donating it in the flood fund…that’s much better if you are not having any fun and quality time….

  14. Prait-Atma (unregistered) on August 26th, 2010 @ 5:08 am

sir, yeh meray sath hu tu chuka hai when i guess ke log jub ithian gay tu me bhi khanay ke liye uth jaon ga..pata chalta hai saray momin bhai namaz ke liye uthay per wapis hi nahe aye sedhay khnay ki tables per hi chipak ke waheen kharay kharya khanay lagtay hain……wah ji wah.

as for expesnive…sir is me wahid cheez sirf in ki bigray huway afirki looking names hotay hian verna taste me kisi khokay ka bun kebabe ya atsty buger ziyada tasty hota hai.

and trust me..i have eaten in best of the best and worst of the worst thelay on road sides, saddar, shahreh-e-fialas and tower…..apart for the decor only a few of the resturnats offer anything that you go awya feeling satisfied for blowing 1k per person……mostly i start having guilt befor eeven my food is over.

i dot know why..i dont seem to see VALUE in any meals i m sevred these days….potion sizes are shrinking, taste evoporating, prices rising, and serivce levels detirioraating…….

no wonder i hardly have any charms or excitment when i go to any resturnat anymore….

  15. بستنی (wasiq) on August 26th, 2010 @ 4:32 pm

you know it is my personal observation that people who enjoy eating out for a very longer period of time are those who enjoy eating….anything and anywhere….they don’t care much…people who care too much usually get fad up….hum pey toh yeah jawani bahut pheley aagaie thi…aap pey zara der sey aaie hai…and since now my responsibilities are diminishing….and i am caring less and less….so iam again starting to enjoy eating…but I still don’t go to the fancy places…and you are right these days the quality and quantity is both suffering due the uncertainty and law & order…how can you expect a halwai to come from the area where there has been firing all night…to make the best tasting dishes day in and day out when all he is worried about whether he is going to get home safely or not …in the bus or on the roof top…plus there are many more trouble on his mind….still I salute and praise all those halwai’s ,bakers and cooks at least in my area who are doing their best….love you all.thanks!

agreed on the diversification of eating joints and status levels….have starting doing that….and it has gone way bad……gogin to KBs was a disastour….Pandorosa was closed… here goes the middle class joints…now will be trying some lower class joints.

somethign on the cards is….the beef burger joints i use to go to during student lifes, some thelayke bun kebabs, sugarcane juice etc etc.

some tariq road joints like ghaffar were also good.

palat apnay mazi ki taraf..wud be the lastest mantra for me….lol

althouugh, food wud be good but wud miss the better rated service, and alteast better then the hard plastic seats that these joints have.

There are times, however, and this is one of them, when even being right feels wrong. What do you say, for instance, about a generation that has been taught that rain is poison and sex is death? If making love might be fatal and if a cool spring breeze on any summer afternoon can turn a crystal blue lake into a puddle of black poison right in front of your eyes, there is not much left except TV and relentless masturbation. It’s a strange world. Some people get rich and others eat shit and die.

  18. بستنی (wasiq) on August 28th, 2010 @ 4:08 am

well if you are not happy with them there is no point in going back…instead you should join a members only club like the british or americans do when they manage to emerge out of the thrash-hold of the middle class going up the ladder….its definitely not a very good idea to visit the old joints…might bring back some hurt full memories and you might also meet some of those you meet on your way up….they will not be surprised to see you there…only think that your are on your way down….

  19. Prait-Atma (unregistered) on August 28th, 2010 @ 11:13 am

    @ wasiq.

hmmmm…in a way you are right…in a way not….rather a cimplcated thing ( in life what part is not

i like pizza hut for its decent toppings, good sitting and best salad bars for a pizza…..yet they have a soggy, oil soaked stale bread 3 out of 4 times…no matter what branch all over the city u may try.

piza next has a pethitc salad bar, ethopian sense of topping…a copy cat , wanna be poor cousin decor tryin hard to look like pizza hut, and failing…..poor service , yet more female to male ratio of waiters.

dominos has apethitc taste, foreign sounding recipes which i dont understand yet loewer rates n faster service, as they so much show off in every add

so i alway think is there any holy powers that matter, who can mix hydrogen with oxegen to make the elixir called water.

humans so obsessed to imitate god…cant they just strat with a single step of , taking a pizza next bread, putt up a pizza hut topping and salad bar served within 15 mintues like dominon promise, on a pizza hut soafas by females from piza next…and billed at dominos rates

  20. Prait-Atma (unregistered) on August 28th, 2010 @ 11:17 am

as for gogin to old places….lol….sri i was planing them to be my escapades….coz no body wud belive i wud go thier, for what they have come to know and belive of me….the ones who gives hell to the waiters and floor managers for bad serivce n dont eat food more then half due to bad taste while all r loving it.

hmm….i wud rather not tell it at all, or they wud think thre is somethign seriosuly seriosu gogin insdei my mind….some chemical mumbo jumbo balnce gogin unbalanced….lol

  21. بستنی (wasiq) on August 28th, 2010 @ 2:46 pm

sir that is quite a remarkable observation….because most people I talk to who visit pizza joints in karachi….have no idea at all…if ask them after a visit…”hey what’s up..?” this is usually their reply :”you know what…we had a pizza @…. it was so crowded…it was so fun…you should have come….” that’s it…and if I try to interrogate a little further by asking…”what pizza ?” ….”ah well it was chicken something …but it was soooo good…” and if you are talking to a kid…all they are interested in the free gifts they got with their over priced pizza’s….and their proud mothers …”humarey bachoun ko toh buss pizza…. ka pizza pasand hai…lol

sir escapedes in this city of karachi …with five mobile companies tracking you always….ha ha…you are so funny some times……

  22. Prait-Atma (unregistered) on August 28th, 2010 @ 6:21 pm

    @ wasiq

sir, honetly, i belive ya…..khana yahan muftay ka samajh ke khaya jata ahi ya brand dekh ke…..more than half the popel dont even know what taste is all about…..they cant distinguish between a 1 day stale bread and a freash one as long as its a branded foriegn franchise..its mana for them….such is our inferority complex.

its a wonderful business to sell stale, near expiry stuff and over priced tags in our country, with no hospitality no discounts and bar eminimum courtesy…why…bcoz we phaticher qoum are still in lines just to enter these franchises.

look how many new branches have grown up everywhere

yaar iss main bhi mera koi kasoor nahein hai….yeah sach hai kay is dafa bhi yeah flood wali burai aap jaisey logoun gi dua oun ka nateja hai….per this time the donation collection trend has completely changed….because of the mobile SMS …..i am hearing of very few fund raising concerts …and dinners…

awiaitng nargis and deedar allocating 10 % of there income form mujras to flood relief.

i heard is se in ka business double hona ka chance hai..bcoz the onlookers wud be relived of the ethical dilema when spending bundles on them
