MUNAF KALIA MIGHT BE KILLED?
This is stunning. So the people wont be able to see/know justice once again, it if comes true. Pakpoint has this article by Shahid Qureshi via London Post that ” Munaf Kalia might be killed in custody after a recent financial scandal according to a senior source in the security. Some one informed the family that Mr Kalia could be eliminated in government custody and presented as ‘suicide’. This leak could be linked to further pressurise the Memon business community but can be serious due to the involvement of high profile elite in the flight of capital from Pakistan. ”
The authenticity of this story is itself a question mark but we have a history of similar things happening in past. In any case, no matter what Munaf has/hasn’t done, he and JK should be given a fair chance. At the end of the day no one knows what really happened. One more reason why we keep on saying, its all about JUSTICE FIRST. . . Read more
8 commentsThe Media Mum - who is behind ?
Our brave media recently went mum again and since there was again no official reason/confirmation/notice/press release ETC. every tom dick and harry has his chance to jump in for a comment. I avoided it for few days merely because i had absolutely no idea. But now, as time passes, and as it is always the case, guess who came out behind the curtain . . . . . again . . . . Read more
21 commentsForeign Policy clarifies the Mayor of the Moment issue
A few days back Dawn had reported from a press release issued by the Karachi City District Government that our 36-year old mayor was ranked as the 2nd Best Mayor in the world along with Berlin’s Klaus Wowereit, and Chongqing’s Wang Hongju.
But what has suddenly turned into an embarrassing situation for the CDGK, is when Joshua Keating an editor of Foriegn Policy Magazine revealed in a blog post that we never ranked him in any way. This entire mess could have been avoided with some very basic fact-checking and now in response the Karachi City Government has also scrambled to edit its own website to quietly amend its text to reflect the changed position

New tricks in mobile balance transfer scam
The other day i heard one friend talking about a conversation at his office between a CSR and a customer who was complaining that he had already spent RS.3000 but didnt get any gift (that was never coming at first place lol) he was promised by the guy/company, to whom this innocent guy kept on sending scratch card numbers for sometime now.
” At the moment almost every Mobile Service Provider has offered balance transfer facility (except ZONG) between their pre-paid customers. Initially offered by Telenor as smart share it immediately got noticed and everyone else replicated it (Ufone: UShare, Mobilink’s Jazz Share, Warid’s Balance Share). However none of them initially realized that our market is not literate enough for such service. This eventually gave birth to a scam that is still in its full swing and there are hundreds of complaint on daily basis about customer’s mobile credit stolen by anonymous people.
The scale is so big that during Warid’s balance share launch almost everyone was getting fake messages of getting their balance doubled (asking them to send messages having balance transfer string). Thanks to Warid, the service couldn’t work during initial few days and it saved us all the pain. Even though actions against these numbers involved in this fraud are taken, there is still room for minor structural changes (we will come to that later). ” READ FULL POST
2 commentsThe circus goes on and on. . .
Last night when i was in gulshan sitting late night with friends we were discussing how the whole city seems a frustrated psycho mob. And yes politics had to be the center topic. Going for a change, i was searching for some serious jokes in newspapers this morning and here i found one (”The minister assured the governor that the water and power secretary would be in Karachi on Monday and take steps to improve the situation“). The minister hoping something even a prophet wouldnt commit. Because Prophets dont commit on abnormalities. Moving on, here is one MASTER JOKE i found from past. This post is just to share some such serious jokes about KHI in political context since i find there is hardly anything worth smile in this city these days. And the price hike in Ramazan was just the last nail in coffin we were waiting for.
NEWS, July 2005 :[ The water plants would also be installed in Karachi, said the president who was confident that the entire country would have safe water by 2007. He told the gathering that provision of electricity in all parts of the country by 2007 was among the government’s priorities . . ]
In coming days (weeks, months) i am very hopeful that the same statement will be repeated by Mr. Zardari (who is by the way much worried about Kashmir than Karachi these days) whenever he visits Karachi. The circus goes on and on . .

2 commentsOpen Sex Arena: Phase 8, DHA, Karachi
Kids born today due to activities at Do Darya (two rivers, Phase 8, DHA) will surely be a living, futuristic legacy of Gen (r ) Musharraf’s rule.
How? Read below.
Musharraf once announced that women shall be equal to men and that they must receive similar respect as men get (which men, he never told us). Therefore, he announced his famous bill, called Women Bill. The bill was a landmark achievement in the face of strong opposition from mullahs and other tullahs of Parliament and Senate. It said, among other things, freedom of expression (sexual, religious, etc). And lo and behold, people were out dating, doing things, touching, touching more, doing more things, and as we shall know after 20 years, doing lot of things not included in the bill.
