Local television channels are broadcasting news that ban on pillion riding has been removed. The home minister is stating that it was imposed to control target killing and removed to facilitate common people as they were suffering due to this ban.

I am curious to know that whether this ban is removed only for election and will reinforce after few days? Whether they successfully controlled target killing and so there is no need for this ban?

We all are aware about the recent bomb blast in Karachi at MA Jinnah road and then we witnessed the worst … 9/11 for Karachi… burning markets … yes! Complete markets. These were not small shops… the wholesale markets responsible for different kind of supplies for whole Pakistan, from medicine to decoration items. The smallest shop in this market must containing items worth of millions rupees.

I myself, being victim of such incident, can understand the feelings of these poor people. The most of the shops in those markets are owned by Memon and Bohri communities. Both communities are famous to run business on low profit but turnovers. And one can get more turnovers by having good stock and so investment in business. The both communities also having the ideology to retain low cash in hand instead stock items. I am telling you all this because to give an idea about the damage caused by such incidents.

Believe me; fire didn’t leave anything behind for them… as I received this from a friend:

Jala daali zaalimo ne meri dukan,
is se to acha tha jala dete mujh samait mera makaan.

Ab kahan se kama k khilaounga apne gharane ko,
Jb ghar main hi nahi ho ga raashan-o-samaan.

Mera qasoor kya tha ae zalim jalane wale,
Na main hamla awar tha na wo mera mehman.

Meri zindagi bhar ki kamaai aik pal main jal gai,
Aur tum kehte ho sabar kr ,na ho halkaan?

Can we do anything for them? We, thousands of people, can do anything for them? I need 1000 people who can contribute just Rs.500/- are you one of them?

Come ahead! And do something….

Dec 30, 2009 @9:22pm Update: City Govt opened an account for rehabilitation of victim.

In my personal experience, the distance which took around 30 minutes to reach a destination a year before now it takes not less than 30 minutes.

In your opinion, who is the responsible of traffic jams in Karachi?

Public: because people don’t care about rules and still want to use incorrect paths regardless the impact?

City Government: because they didn’t plan properly and creating problems for public?

Traffic Police: because they are failed to control traffic properly?

You people might have heard about recent heroin Smuggling scandal in which around 10 people arrested in KSA. Yesterday I met on of the family member of their family in order to know actual story.

The story started when one person offered them complete Umrah package in just Rs. 35,000/- (where in general market it cost minimum Rs.65, 000/-). The person inquired and found there are other 5- 6 people also going (might he told everyone same story) and so agreed to join them with two other family members. They did not give their passports and tickets till last moments and even said to not bring any other relatives at airport. On last night they all gathered somewhere in Korangi for dinner and there they gave them tickets, passport, Ihram and leather shoes. On Inquiring about these specific shoes, he responded that these shoes will act as identification for our agent at other end.

They left Karachi safely without any trouble but at Jiddah airport heroin found in their shoes and clothes. Their families in Karachi had no idea about that until they received a call with a short message “We are fine and we have performed Umrah”. This short message causes the curiosity and later they came to know about this situation. They are trying to access govt on this issue and I heard that govt has been considering this issue with KSA govt. Lets hope for better.

We all must beware of such people and should also educate people around us.
