Ban on pillion riding to end

Enjoy Pillion Riding

Enjoy Pillion Riding

The Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza announced removal of ban on pillion riding in Karachi. Although, he stated that this can impose again, if necessary.

We had two polls on KMB (here and here) regarding the recent ban on pillion riding. In our first poll, 61% people showed that the ban on pillion riding is not a good step in order to maintain law and order situation where in second poll 68% people denied to support ban on pillion riding due to current economic situation.

Do you think that Government will impose this ban again in near future?

Illegal Matric exam centre raided by vigilance team

According to latest news report (also here) a vigilance team raided MATRIC exam center which was illegal. Its (not) amazing how easily a center was setup, teacher stationed, papers reached and no one checked.  If the school was not in approved list for exam (as board official said on TV) how come 30+ students reached there to appear in paper?  Now the board will come up with all the stupid explanations we are sure like it always happens but this story should well clear as to where our education system stands and where our future is heading. People at the helm of affairs are least bothered as their kids are either in private schools or abroad. While on one hand we have individual brilliance, collectively our state of affairs is pathetic. Instead of focusing gov schools/colleges previous gov wasted all resources into a useless excercise know as HEC and current one is a nightmare which has no vision to start with. Unless health and education are the priorities more bad news await us. At the end of the end . . . One more story to sadden us. . .

GEO TV blocked in some areas

watch-geo-tv-live1So Mr. Nawaz was right. Musharraf ki rooh shayd waqai mai Zardari mai ghus gai hai (and here) although he was enough himself). I have just been informed by few friends from different areas that GEO is blocked on their side and seems like we may see a repetition of 2007 when the dictator turned it into hell. We were already saying that Feb 17 elections will result in more corrupt gov. since how can be a child legal when the marriage is illegal (NRO).

Its pathetic that our governments never learn from history. And this will just be the beginning I guess. Media is under threat as earlier it was mentioned in recent newspapers. After loosing media battle at an early stage and since GHQ is in full support to the civilian dictator, I hope that Zardari continue to make mistakes like these so his exit come as fast as his spiritual mentor came.

Lawyers menace on shahra-e-faisal

Anyone planing to go out of city or to receive a relative or friend from the airport can forget about it.

The lawyers’ movement is once again making sure it does all in its power to agitate the commuters on the busiest road of the city.

Shahra-e-faisal is closed for public traffic beyond the Drigh Road station due to a demonstration by the lawyers. Traffic is being diverted on Rashid Minhas Road which is causing great inconvenience to the commuters. A friend called and said he had to navigate through Gulshan to get to his home across the airport.
