Itwar Bazzar , also known as bachat bazaar, is a place where our daily use items are available on a discounted rate. But in reality vegetables, fruits, and un branded items like Iron Grill Stands, books, towels are sold here on slightly higher rates and one can get discounts on the company stalls only. But this is not what people actually come for in an Itwar bazaar as these sections are often not very crowded, so let us move to a crowded spot.

A few comments on my previous post, a picture sent to me by Ramla and a book that I bought a few days back all motivated me to write yet another book related post.

After having wandered in almost all good men boutiques, looking for sherwani for the groom to be, we ended up @ Noshay-Mian.
I remember being there on my brother’s wedding, three years back. At that time Noshay Mian had just started designing sherwanis and we did not find anything interesting.
This year, visiting all good designers starting from Ameer Adnan, Junaid Jamshed, Deepak Perwani, Aijazz Aslam & Abdul Samad, we decided to visit Naushay mian in the end. Though the expectations were not that high, yet a visit was must.
And to our surprise, the best sherwanis were found there. Some place where we all liked more than one sherwani.
A recommended place for dulhas(groom)-to-be, to visit.
Better prices, best designs. Satisfactory customer treatment and the sherwani gets ready in just a month’s time!
Not to forget matching Khusa(shoes) / turban along-with.

Almost a year back I wrote about the Shoe Crazy Pakistani Women, where I shared my experience at shoe shopping around town just before EID.
A year has passed and the same scenes have been replaying over ‘n over again. Yesterday I had the misfortune to witness the poor men folk standing outside shoe shops twirling their fingers literally as if to plead to be relieved of this traumatic experience. They stood around quietly while the women-folk ransacked the shoe shops around Zamazam in search of the ‘perfect shoe’.
Its the ever-so-patient men who stand around patiently listening to comments like Kuch Pasand Nahein Aya interspersed with Kiya ho giya hai is daffa – no good shoes. You and I know this question should NOT be addressed as it may take a turn for the worse and are expected to humbly follow the leader to the next shop.
Women, have mercy on us *snicker*

Spotted this a few days back in a super store, I was glad that the trend for instant tea is really catching on and something at half the price of the first “Doodh Patti” was sure worth trying, so I bought a few packs of it.

We have been depriving women from both human and religious rights since centuries. We have killed them in the name of honor. We have insulted them and have deprived them justice, have harassed them at workplace at schools and educational institutions, have forced them to obey us, “The MEN”. When we need a bride we get them all dressed up only to reject them for just being too short or too tall, as if we are shopping for a furniture to suit our rooms. When they set foot out to work we point fingers at their dignity, we often harass them abuse them and yet we don’t allow them to raise a voice against us.

According to this news report, Emaar, the largest real estate development firm in the gulf, will develop 2 of Karachis neighbouring islands, Bundal and Buddo at a total cost od USD 43 billion.
Emaar will hold 85% stakes to the project, while the remaining 15% will be held by the Port Qasim Authority in exchange for the real estate.
The project will take approximately 13 years to complete and will have housing, educational facilities, hospitals, malls and office complexes.
Question: With the extreme upsurge in the supply of “luxury housing”, is it not possible that Karachi may be faced with higher supply than the demand for such projects? Currently, according to some sources, Dubai is facing the same.

For the past few days ive been hearing that our great city Nazim, Mr. Mustafa Kamal, has ordered that the repair of all damaged roads be completed by October 2, 2006, in order to facilitate higher traffic flows in Ramadan.
It is also reported that the opening up of all major bridges (to what ever extent possible of they are under construction) has also been ordered.
So far I have seen the road turning towards Karsaz Road from Dalmia being carpeted and many sections of the road from Johar More to Jauhar Chowrangi being repaired.
Oh, and last week, midday at 2 pm, they started reparing holes near the 2 talwar intersection and completed by 6.
Any roads in your area under some urgent form of repair? please post here and let us know.
Disclaimer: I have no confirmation of any such order, but have heard a few radio broadcasters discussing this.
