The Beach
It never fails. Every single time a relative comes to visit at our place, they state what, to them, is the glaringly obvious: “you must got to the beach every day!”. Up until last year, my reply was always to gently break it to them that if you live within walking distance of the beach, it becomes an everyday occurance and makes you much less inclined to visit it every single day.
Recently, though, I have rediscovered the joys of the beach in winter. Here’s a handy tip: wear a heavy sweater. With the weather fluctuating like crazy as of late, the absolute best way to have some fun is to run around barefoot on a beach somewhere eating various cold sugary treats, be it the elitist French beach, the free-for-all Clifton Beach, or any of the various beaches in between, just grab a towel, throw off your sandals and run with the wind!
so i’ve never been to french beach, but have heard quite a few stories abt wat happens there – can someone give a first hand account of how “western” the maahol is there ?!?!?
well i’ve been to the french beach and the maahol is just like in the west :p
I guess you could just tone down the stories and that would be about right
The only western thing about it is that its a beach where access is restricted and so not every tom, dick and sikandar can get in, which makes it an ideal spot for raves and picnics. Invite only, of course. :P
Then I SO have to go there.
I’ve been to French Beach for a friends-only picnic – the beach is beautiful – clean, great sand, and the water is so clear you can see right to the seabed.
well, since everyone’s being vague, lemme ask it straight – do girls wear bikinis in public there, like western beaches ? are there hot lifeguards, like baywatch ? drinking & sex ? do people actually go there to sunbathe, trying to emulate the goras ?
Ok this is from what i’ve seen, the foreigners wear their bikinis, u’ll find some locals in bathing suits, no hot lifeguards, drinking yes, sex may be and as far as sun bathing is concerned we don’t need it do we.
