Nostalgia Karachi
An image from our family archives dated 1953 of Karachi. It is a view of the Ilaco House and Victoria Road (now Abdullah Haroon Road). The trees are where Hotel Jabees stands today.
Karachi sure had some class back then (black suited men and snazzy old cars) does the gentlemen class still exist?
Dear Teeth Maestro,
Do you have more such images of Karachi? Do you mind if I upload it to my collection? check out this post from my blog and the posts linked there.
you are more then welcome to use this image, Ill email you a larger one – All the best
Karachi does not look ANYTHING like the picture today.
The Mohatta exhibit I spoke of in my post has tons of photographs of the old-time Karachi, including Saddar, Frere Gardens with the statues in it, Clifton Beach when it used to have the Queen Victoria Pier, and the trams of Karachi!
Salam,
This is for Teeth Maestro. Do you have more photo’s of old Karachi?
