is village resturant too expensive?

Couple of days ago I decided to go out for dinner with my family. My brother suggested we should go to The Village (or salt and pepper, or whatever it’s currently called) at Sea View. My family is not a big fan of buffet dinners (excluding me, I love buffet), but we decided to go there anyway. Just few minutes before leaving my dad called the resturant and found out that it costs close to Rs. 500 per person to eat over there. That made him upset and we went to Pizza Hut instead. Not a bad decision, since we ate to our satisfaction and paid less than Rs. 1500 (we are a family of 4).

The point I wanted to make was that is it really worth to pay that much for eating at the village? I have never been there but my family has and they say the food’s not worth the expensive price tag, and they keep inreasing it every few months. So, are they just cashing their location or what?

I guess they can justify their prices for the number of courses they serve and the ambience, but I have always found the food to be wayy to oily and greasy, and that has always ruined the eating experience there for me. In contrast, I find Lal Qila better, in terms of cost, ambience and food.

Five hundred per head is a bit much, even if you take in the seaside and all. Lal Qila should be around four hundred, if I’m not mistaken, and the ambience is great, as is the variety of food.

its Rs. 350 inclusive tax for lunch buffet. but yes dinner is slightly steep, considering you could pay baout asmuch at arizona grill or somewhere equally scrumptious at dinner. I personally prefer village to lal qila: which is crowded like flies to raw flesh. literally the crowd is such a put off, u end up disgusted at being at open air.

and its really about prices. there are some, who enjoy eating expensive food. i would pay 1500 a dish if the place is worth it. really about preferences and priorities. ten years down, as a mother, i doubt id spend as much on food.

village is good, juicy, scrumptious. lal qila is good too, but again: terribly crowded. best ption: Rs. 75 a head at burnes road eat in! trust me. its the best and juiciest ever. otherwise for open air: boat basin rocks.
