Rude Servers!

ph.gif

While I’ve certainly encountered my share of rude servers, the one who served my friends and I a couple of weeks ago at the Zamzama branch at Pizza Hut definitely takes the cake. When I asked the server to bring me a glass of Diet Pepsi while I waited for the rest of my friends to show up, the smart aleck replied, “You’re having pizza and you’re drinking Diet Pepsi?” I had to explain to the moron that I was infact not hungry and wouldn’t be ordering anything to eat to wipe the smirk off his face. ARGH!

I don’t understand what it is with people when you eat something and order Diet Pepsi! I eat chicken tikka and paratha, and order a Diet Pepsi, and everyone is like “You eat paratha and order Diet Pepsi?” Come on people! I just wanna eat my favorite food, and if I have Diet Pepsi instead of regular Pepsi, doesn’t that mean I’m saving a couple of hundred calories or so? It’s better to order Diet than regular regardless of what you eat.

whats worse is people do not undersand tha Diet or Sprite Zero aree less “gaseous” and make it more enjoyable. i hate burping gas during bites! besides the absence of gas brings out the flavour: a subtlr blend. its less sweet too.

but Pizza Hut waiters have always always given the attitude that they are kings. Remeber our lunch Saba? and the novicec waiter who crumpled the paper AND messed the order up AND on top of that, was shaking his head to and fro.

More and more people are switching to diet, and this is a good sign. Regular carbonated drinks are the worst drinks you can have with food, and hence the diet ones are an obvious choice. Or if there is an option of a fresh juice (like the watermelon juice at Cafe Aylanto) one should go for that.

the “server” was still human, wasn’t he? would you have been so offended if a friend of yours had passed the remark?

The server was a server. A friend is a friend. I agree that both are humans, but there’s a world of difference. The server was there because he was doing his job. The friend would be there because I would have invited him. What’s the difference between and angel and the devil? They are both creations of Allah, aren’t they…

Yes, a server’s job is to bring you food, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a brain, aren’t allowed to do anything more than nod their heads, aren’t allowed to talk, and are so beneath your contempt that even an innocent remark needs to generate so much hostility. The authors’ comments stink of elitism and a lack of respect. The poor guy probably made a misguided attempt at small-talk. Get over it.

Z S: Would you go and slap you boss hard on his back? After all, he wouldn’t mind it if his friend did it, so I am sure he wouldn’t mind it if u did it, right?

Umar: LOL!!!! U see nude servers instead of rude, and then go ahead and post about women covered from head to toe…. no grey areas? ;)
