Flag Fever

Is it just me, or was the newest trend this 14th August to affix flags to cars? In the past week, every time I was stuck in a traffic jam, every fourth car I saw had a flag. A friend of mine had a flag on his car too, which actually got stolen (which we realized only after trying to convince a flag seller that we didn’t need one). Though even with all the flags and the green and white lights all across the city, 14th August doesn’t hold the charm it usually did as a child, when kids would get together and decorate their houses and buildings with jhandiyans and diyas, or sneak up to the roof to see the fireworks across the city.

Oh btw, happy independence day, everyone :)

How do I join the site?

I am of Pakistani stock, born and raised overseas, and have a great affinity for my motherland. I just wanted to say that its great to see such patriotism from Pakistanis, and if thats manifets via car-flags ect, then the more the merrier.

Applied at that site twice long time ago, nothing happens….

As far as the fever is concerned…. it is true that the younger you are the more you enjoy… this year, each house on our street had a huge flag waving on top except for ours…. Reason must be that the youngest kid in our household hasn’t turned a year old yet, and the second youngest is almost 25 :) I am guessing from next year onward, we will also have a flag :)
