I passed by Village today – the structure seemed intact- all the lights were off though and they had put up scaffolding around the entrance.

No way, any chance it was arson? Though I’m sure it will be up and running once again in a month or so.

I’ve never been either. Just not much of a buffet person, I guess. :)

I did hear about it from a friend who lives near the Village calling in the middle of the night to tell me the Village was ablaze. I assumed it was a strange dream and went back to sleep at the time.

And yes, it will probably be back up in no time, assuming the insurance comes through.

News reports (dawn) confirms the reports, the fire started at 2:40 am and the brigade made it Half an Hour after the call. I think it could be arson, I wont rule that out quickly, but once a fire starts in a place lined with bamboo shoots and tons of wooden structure it is impossible to recover. Insurance, I doubt it.

Its reeally a bad news. Its totally the resonsibility of the restaurant’s management. thay even had no fire equipment at all!!!!. had they had fire extinguishers they might hade overcome it much before. but now at leastr they got a lesson.

    GOOD for Village !!
It was the Mekka for all corrupt people of Karachi.
A center for people who had too much of haram ki income.
