Hey when your LAN card is working what speeds do you get? I mean what ISP and type of internet you using or is it just at work that you use it? And what part of khi you in? thanks…
Shiraz, me and my cousin used to share Multinet’s DSL, 128 kbps shared switch, it was a good deal for 3/4 pc’c, and it cost 7500/- which was getting a bit too unnecessory for a internet connection.
So we switched to a local cable net provider (fariya net) its packages ranges from 600 to 1000, when i download things i get 15/20 kb at peak hours and often 100/150kb in late nights. It has CS etc servers, softwares server, latest indian, english, pakistani movies, giga’s of MP3’s. So i think its a fantastic deal in less then 1000.
And i m in gulshan.
have u guys ever used VoIP gateway, like Vonage, Callvantage, etc on ur DSL/Cable network? does it work from pak?
do u mean 100/150 Kbps or KB/s?
More cheaper, faster and reliable cable networks.

Desi Cable Nets (or DCN) is something very unique to Pakistan. Yes, its our own way of finding a decently performing home network. This one is from 2003 but still very relavent and the DCNs have actually got way better that predicted:

MOID, I have used voip services and it works great cant really tell the difference, but then again my internet speed is much higher then we get in pak. I just ran a speed test on my wifi connected laptop and here is the results. http://reviews.cnet.com/7009-7254_7-0.html?CType=2273&ac=847&ISPID=277858&ISPNAME=&&kbps=21361.3 . Im not sure how voip is in pak.
