Karachi-Hydrabad Motorway Project.

I think itís a good decision and one that was needed much earlier, because a) cities are close, almost every one travels by road there are no other alternatives. b) Traffic is huge on super highway c) lots of economy and goods depend on this road too. Etc etc.

What I donít understand is, does the six-lane road means one way road will be a six-lane? Or three-lane each? Because its already two-lane each road. Another thing that I donít understand is Mr. Minister said it consists of 24 under passes and flyovers. I know for sure there are number of little bridges on the road but why would we need an underpass? Just to make it look good?

6 lanes usually refer to 3 each – that’ll do as long as its a smooth run. The present Super Highway has 2 lanes each its not bad, provided its ditch-free.

I agree its a good move, hope its handed over to FWO as they know how to complete projects in record time and with quality

Underpasses and overpasses are used for a frequent flow of traffic, so u can get off easily from the highway and get on to the highway easily and crossing streets dont bother the highway flow, rite now superhighway dont have much of these.

If Govt is thinking to turn Superhighway into a motorway…..so thats insane and simple way of making more money for them, why cant they put some money to improve superhighway, coz motorway means more tolls and tolls for ppl using it, sounds good and more advanced but rite now ppl who are using superhighway for everyday outback pays few bucks for each trip, will be paying alot everyday……and turning superhighway into motorway will leave no other choice to them but to pay higher toll and cover the same distance in same time ………but more cost.

Its a good decision. We have several fly overs & under passes on our way to Jeddah_ Makkah & Jeddah_ Madina.

Sounds like we will be paying more toll to use the old super highway in the name of motorway. Hope they improve the condition of the road and keep costs down as well.

Are you kidding me? The FWO completed the KPT underpass a lot later than announced, and the underpass is completely under par. Have you driven through it, and has your car hit the ditches? I mean this underpass is brand new, and it has this big drain or something going across it which is lower than the level of the road.

“Andhon main kaana raja” is all i can say about the FWO!
