Lights and magic.
I just got back from a 4 day vacation, and while its great to be away from work, I missed Karachi like anything. Which I didn’t realize until the plane started circling the Karachi airspace, all bright and lit up [oh my city of lights, i missed you], and the passenger next to me commented with a look of awe in his eyes: ‘your city’s gorgeous’. He also couldn’t get over the fact that it took 10 minutes for the plane to circle Karachi and reach the airport, a testament to how large the city is. I suppose you start appreciating your city anew when you see it from a visitor’s eyes :)
Well said…. for all those who complain about each and everything about Karachi, go and live abroad for a while, then you’ll realize how lucky you are right now…. i guess it is true, ghar ki murgi daal barabar :)
Welcome back- 4 days heck that was a long break – Khi Metbloggers missed you – it honestly felt like you were gone for a longer time
No wonder we werent seeing any posts from you Huma..:-)…
Relatig to the topic i agree with ZAG..if someone doesnt realize the importance of their city go and try to live abroad for a while and then see how much u miss this city……i was out for 5 years and miss Karachi like no other…
I miss Karachi :-(
Good thing the plane was flying over karachi when there was no load shedding. Poor visitor…karachi got him before he even landed.Guess what would happen to him on the ground.
lol….
true…..karachi is HUGE!!!!
and the best thing is, it has a pulse and life of its own….is so lightly connected to what ever happens elsewhere…and even within its own self….every locality etc has a life line of its own……..
I came to Karachi back in 2002 the first time since a kid…and I LOVE it…I just got back again…its a great place. I think it has lots of advantages that people dont know about until they have left and come back. But I think thats true of most places.
i will 100% agree with zag huma and TB that
its is really true you miss karachi like nothing else.i m away from karachi for almost 1 and half year now and not a single day passed by when i dont miss karachi.thats why me and my roommates keep taking about karachi when ever we
sit togeather and its the same love that dont let me stay away from this blog.
if only law and order gets better, there is no such place as karachi
Yes its true that a Karachiite miss Karachi a lot when ever he/she is out station. It is also a fact that Karachi now gives a breath taking spectacle during flight after evening.
I am also with Farhan, Zag, Huma and TB.
It is difficult to express the sentiments when I returned to my magical Karachi after spending about three months outside.
Karachi Rocks!!
Karachi meri jaan! I miss it too :(
I’ve been away from Karachi since 10 years now. Miss it like crazy. I did visit this summer after 5 years…despite major changes (most of them for the worse)…..still love it like no other place.
I’m coming back to my city after 2 years and 7 months… ahh.. I miss you karachi….
