Pakistan Drives a Nail into the Barmy Army

pak-celebration.jpgJust now Pakistan cricket team won the 3rd and final test match to win the series by 2-0 against the English. The day started slow and looked to be heading for a draw at lunch. The English came out of a scrumptious lunch (probably had Phaja Pai) they were very confident of an eminent draw, but Pakistan had other plans and Kaneria started the debacle soon Shoaib Akhtar joined in on the witch hunt with his mesmerizing slow balls doing more damage. The English lost 8 wickets in a span of 12 odd overs, WOW

I do have a bone to pick with umpire Darryl Hair (in my opinon he has a strong Gora skin bias) who ate up Danish Kaneria’s hat-trick wicket which should have gone our way, but soon scores were settled when Rudy Kirstein gave an LBW in our favor which was an apparent inside edge. What a victory to be proud off….

Well done Pakistan, congrats all around to everyone

Great team work by Pakistan. Shoaib and Danesh were simply splendind. Inzi again proved that he is the best captain around.

A great series marred a little bit by the lack of sportsman’s spirit (case in point: Ian Bell’s controversial Caught & Bold, Inzi’s dismissal by Steve Harmisson, and Vaughn’s catch in the slips in the 2nd test), and a lot by the extremely underpar umpiring by Darrel Hair in particular. Darrel did not return 5 decisions in Pakistan’s favor on the last day. The first one coming in Kaneria’s first over of the day.

It does not matter if we won or lost. What matters is the principle of the game. Darrel Hair, quite like David Shepherd, has been an umpire PCB ought to pick a couple of skeletons’ worth of bones with. This is not the first time he has done this.

PCB ought to take a more aggressive stand against biased umpiring, as it merely lulls the thrill of the game.
