Bye bye Karachi.

It’s bye bye Karachi, and hello hello Dubai for a few days.

AirBlue was scary. I had to pause my mp3 player thrice in the flight and start reciting Kalma for fear of

coming death. Once the plane takes off, it is supposed to stay steady.. not dive down without prior warning. When planning to land, it should not be SO close to the sea that another half kilometer and it’ll touch the water. The airhostess was outright rude.. and the constant chant of “Paani? Paani? Paani? Paani?” started getting to me. Which airline has issues with a laptop being turned on during the flight? And tell me, HOW exactly does an mp3 player affect the plane’s navigation?! Oh, and to attract my attention, instead of gently tapping my shoulder, the air hostess actually jerked my seat really badly two or three times, UGH. And the constant turbulence.. don’t even get me started. The takeoff and landing were pretty smooth though.

The only good thing sort of was the green salad that came with the food. It was in a tiny cup with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes and onions.. but it was the best vegetable I’ve EVER had. It was so healthy, and fresh and CRISPY.. yumm. Very un-Karachi :p

Anyway, lesson learnt: No more AirBlue.

AirBlue took some runway different than the one PIA and Emirates usually take. On the way, I saw so many little planes and helicoptors.. SO MANY! I didn’t know there were that many in Pakistan, let alone Karachi. I wonder if the President has his own private plane. He must :/ But who else did all those planes belong to? And the helicoptors? Any ideas? I wouldn’t mind having one myself :p

PS: Remember the EXPO Pakistan exhibition from April, May 2005? Well, there’s still an ad of that at the airport. Isn’t it high time they removed it?

PPS: I miss Karachi already.

I am really surprized…rather horified about your ingnorance on flight saftey…laptops, PDA’s and electronic equipment CAN distrub planes navigational ability..

have u eveer noticed blurring of image on your moniter when a call comes on your mobile and it si placed near you PC or the distrubance in noise quality of FM radio when ur mobile is near teh dash board of the car…

well all other electronic equipment can have a similar effect on a planes navigational equipment..!!
