Before my trip back home I was under the impression that the completed underpass must have made life much easier but I was extremely disappointed to find the roads around it have been left in a complete mess. Hope they fix it up soon.

You will see the effects once the side roads are cleared out.

    heres the classiest bit.

despite the immense trafficvolumes in the side lanes thanks to the shopping malls, they closed down the dunkin donuts wali side yesterday….so all cars comin from aashiana and forum, planning to head out on the main road, were stuck in an immense jam at lunch yesterday!

and last week, they completely blocked the Bullays end service lane enterences.

I agree that they cant inform anyone before hand, but what about putting up road signs that say “no entry” or “dead end” or just asking the traffic police to guide people??

The reason for this is because while the contractors were working round the clock to finish the underpass by Ramzan, the shopowners around the area asked the authorities to not start any work on the sidelanes during ramzan, as that is their busiest sales period and if work is going on the side lanes, it will hurt their business. so the side lanes were left as it is for a month, and you know how hard it is here to restart something that has been left idle…. :)
