The inauguration ceremony of the water fountain has finished. The fireworks have ended.

Seaview was thronged by hundreds and thousands of people. A steady stream of thousands of cars moved slowly along the corniche. Children, families, groups of friends, it seemed as if the whole city has turned out to witness the event.

We were more lucky to get a front seat in the balcony of a friend’s apartment overlooking the sea.

Wonderful experience.

Just went and saw the fountain – will post some pictures – I really wish this fountain was a bit closer to shore or they could arrange for some boats to venture and give the people a drive around this new tourist attraction

I still dont get whats so fascinating about the fountain??? I mean ok its just a water jet fountain going upto a height of 500 ft, now what??? If the KPT wanted to make something attractive they could have added some colorful lights to the fountain, made it musical or do some laser works to fascinate the thousands of people who rushed over there last night…at this point of time i think of it as a total waste of public taxes just to show off that we can build a fountain 500 ft high..ironically the citizens of the very same city suffer from a lack of clean drinking water….

A refreshing sight. But a little too far out to create an impact… but I have yet to see the beauty at night. As for the ethical considerations, sigh, who listens!
