Viral Infections..

I have been sick for the past four days, suffering from some mysterious ailment, that every doctor insists on referring to as a ‘viral infection’, which basically consists of fever, fatigue and body aches, at times also accompanied by a sore throat and/or the sniffles. Surprisingly, this viral infection has no ‘medical name’, or at least all the doctors [and there have been many!] have refused to give me one, and have prescribed the standard ‘take two panadols every 8 hours for 5 days’ prescription, which they’ve been doling out left right and centre to all those who are suffering from the mysterious viral infection. This outbreak of viral infection could also be the reason that all medical stores in Karachi are now facing a shortage of Panadols, where one is either forced to have Panadol Extras, or buy grossly expensive imported Panadols. How can a city run out of something as vital as Panadols is beyond me, but seeing the number of people who are down with this ailment, I’m not surprised. Till then, if you manage to find Panadols, stock up on em!

I’ve had this nasty flu for over 2 years now. It comes, and it goes as it pleases. I thought I was getting OHHHLLD until I noted the number of flu cases on the rises first hand among friends and relatives.

ever consider getting a flu shot? you should be getting one once a year. i had my doubts about those things working, and i’m as big a skeptic as any of doctors, but this year it’s done me surprisingly well after having taken the shot last year. usually i get the flu about three or four times a year. this year, touchwood, nothing. try it out.
