The Early Days: a Coming-of-Age Movie

earlydays_poster.jpg
Press release for Early Days – a movie for the younger (at heart) audience

The Early Days is a story not distant from the lives of most of us. It depicts the university going years, which most of us can relate to, yet different in its own way. It consequently ends up being an adventurous romantic drama, with a tinge of comedy. It is a story about friendship, love, and most importantly ambition. It begins with a student arriving from a distant city to join a local university. The events that take place on the very first day set pace for the next four years of his college life. And as everything happens for a reason, it so happens.

Starring Adeel Suhrwardy as Sami, Sehrish Masood as Sarah, Somair Rizvi as Zain and the support cast includes Sohail Hashmi (FM 89 RJ), Irfan Qureshi, Kiran Sajid, Kanwal Malik and Khurram Suhrwardy.

Written and directed by Khurram Suhrwardy and produced by Zaid Aziz.

Plot: There was a guy named Sami and gal named Sarah. Sarah was a very beautiful gal with lots of attitude. Sami was a son of rich dad who was always touring Europe with his gf(Sami’s mom does not know about that). Sami and Sara were both class fellows in economics dept. at university . Sami bet with his friends that he would make Sara begging for his friendship but Sara with lot of attitude does not like this show off guy. There was also other guy named Zain who came of very poor family but was very intelligent. He always topped the class and had lots of admirers. He helped Sara in notes and poor sara fell in love with him but Zain denied her and said that he has to fulfill his dad dreams(who died 2 years ago before he was born) and he could not think of marry before his sister’s marriage. Sara was very upset and said that she would wait for him. Sami became jealous of Zain/Sara friendship and asked his “tapori” friends to give hard time to Zain. Zain got injured as his motor cycle breaks were failed. Sara reached hospital and one of class fellow told her in hospital that it was not an accident and Sami is behind it. Then doctor came and said “khoon bhaut behgaya hay, app dua karain” and “bachay ya maan main say aik ki jan bachaye jasakti hay” (this was said to some other guy in hospital, not to Sara.) Sara filed FIR against Sami but here Sami’s dad try to buy police inspector but one lawyer came for Sara’s help and said “Judge Sahab ….. ” . In next scene dr said to Sara “hum nay apni poori koshish kari laikin Allah ki yahi marzi thee” .. Sara yelled and went into coma. Sami got jail for 2 weeks (mind it, his dad had bought court) but his father even did not like that and send him to Dubai before police could arrest him but then Sami’s plane got crashed and his dad got mad and thought himself as his murderer. He thought to abondon sinner’s life and divorce his wife and married his gf. Sara came out of coma after 2 weeks but here one dr. fell in love for her. He proposed her but Sara asked her to bring Zain bloody shirt. Dr. some how arranged shirt and then in last scene ,Sara is washing the shirt but still blood is there , her mom said “beta arail say dhoya karo, har nishan saaf”. And then Arial Promo comes up …. What happened b/w Dr/Sara and Sami’s dad and his new wife, I am not gonna tell you now as I am planning to make trilogy of it …. Wait for part two in 2007

LOL :) Awesome plot, had no idea you actually had a sense of humor.(I am even willing to overlook spelling and grammar errors here.)

WHO says this plot portrays real life experiences. I have seen usually girls in the university go and flirt with male teachers instead of brainy students. Those Harry potter type brainy students are their FAV BHAI JAAN..

Also in the end its guys like SAMI who get the girls…Do you think karachi girls are that stupid

Who said that it was a real life experience. I am lying at airport and am waiting for my flight. Most of the flights got delayed yesterday due to so cool weather at JFK. Missing my home town :-( No stupid snow there.

Anon, I could hire you as a script writer. I am sure that most of the Indo-Pak movies/dramas are like that. Few days ago I got mad and watched couple of episodes of drama “Mehndi” online and every one was just trying to get marry in that.

Teachers in Paksitan were very talented, I never could get good marks due to that. They just wanted “Tom-MOM” and aap ka bhai ….. kia kahoon :-(

Skether I dunno why did I read brainy as “binary” students. Zero-One-Zero-One. Much better term for programmers I guess.

Kia kahoon about Karachi gals … One gal (my friend in my undergrad) took 7500 $ from me (I swear) and still waiting that when she is going to return :-( I just feel helpless and have promised that I would not give “udhar” to any one any more. Any thing that bleeds for 5 days and does not die should never be trusted.

Does some one want to write Part 2 of this ??? Just start the story where did I leave, Just try to finish at the point from where it could lead to part 3.

    Holy Sinner

Noman, thanks :) I am actually looking for a job right now so I accept your offer.
So where did you find the online drama? I might try that, although I have little patience and they speak sooooo slowly.

    Thanks for all the links.
Turab, the dad dying two years before the son was born? That is what is called a ‘stretch target’.

“how can the dad die two years before zain was born?” You need to take some classes. Though I can come up with so many scientific reasons but keep it simple. I do not want my comment held up for moderation.

Hey I saw the film today. it was superb. the storyline was much better than what POO POO came up with. It was very realistic and very well acted and directed.
