Crazy Radio Ad…

This ad keeps popping up on radio and doesnt quite make sense to me:

Son: Dad Dad, you must get me a citibank visa card.
Father: And why do you need a citibank visa card my son?
Son: Because I could win a BMW 3 series, but I have to apply for a citinbank credit card!
Father: (softly, BMW 3 Series?) Oh no….you cant have a citibank credit card.
Son: What? Im asking mum.
Father: (dials number) Hello? Yes, Id like to apply for a citibank credit card…

Heres the issue with this ad:
If you dont earn OR if you dont have a substantial wealth in your own pocket, you cant get your own credit card!!! Its simply against policy!!

The son could get a card, but that too would be a supplementary card since he is (quite obviosly from this ad) a dependant!

Just what exactly is citibank trying to sell here?

Citi and Capital 1 put out the most crooked ads even in the US. Lately Citi is running the “No hassle card” scheme and Capital 1 is still capitalizing on “Whats in your wallet”.

How much does an oil change for a 3 series cost in PK?

@ unholysaint that is the whole idea behind the campaign. the poor guy who wins the BMW will need to max his citi card to get an oil change.

Citi should have kept an years supply of sugar or a UPS as a price.
