Got change for 5000?

Ok, jokes aside, but I got 5000 rupee bill from the ATM and I really need change. It was a real bummer to see the ATM spit out a single bill of 5000. I mean, have things got that expensive that we need 5000 rupee bills all the time? I can’t decide if it’s funny or ironic. I have money but I can’t do anything with it. I want to buy a drink but my 5000 rupee bill is not accepted anywhere. Who said money could buy everything?

Go to your bank and get it done from there.

Well think of it this way, it would be much easier carrying money around and as far as I understand, perhaps that’s the whole reason behind this note issuance, convenient delivery from point A to B

On the downside of it, I agree with u … it’s already difficult finding change for a 1000.

They should add an option in the ATM’s to choose the notes that you actually need. May be if i were to buy a mobile fone for like 4800, i would appriciate having ONE note do all the stuff.. But i wanna buy a ciggarette it will be a torchure…

    @ Nadir Nasir:

Uff toba — the correct spelling is ‘torture’. This is a common word (appears a lot in the newspapers) and should not be misspelled.

    Easy way out:

Whenever you use the ATM, draw money always less than 5000 multiple times until you get the amount you need…

    Rs 4000 x 3 times = 12000

check out if the ATM allows amounts as low as this..

IF yes it is definite that you will not have the Rs 5000 note..

    How is it?

I was totally against this 5000 note but now that no one can spend it now people will have to start saving. This will be a great thing in the long run (as long as inflation doesnt stay at 8%). Save money people save money!
