Poor tailors…

Adil Najam over at Pakistaniat – All things Pakistan, posted this very interesting article “A bad day for tailors in Karachi”. Two news items were reported in a single day, involving tailors, in which one was beaten to death by the husband of the woman he was caught in a compromising position with, while the other tailor underwent a gall-bladder operation in a North Nazimabad hospital, and had his kidney illegally removed by the doctor. Being both were tailors was a very perceptive link which was discovered by Adil.

However, the second report highlights the big illegal trade of kidneys going on in karachi, and how even foriegn educated doctors are becoming part of it here. The doctor in question was educated in Ireland. Dawn has also published an update to the story here. (Posted on adils post as comments).

It is no longer safe to ‘trust your doctor’ anymore, and one should really take an interest in whatevers happening to them or their loved ones when in the hospital, and ensure they’re getting the treatment they need and not something else.
