Secure enough?

I sometimes get amazed at the sheer amount of ‘official’ security forces we have operating in Karachi. Just to recount,

  • Capital City Police
  • Madadgar 15
  • Labaik Force (Police Elite Commandos)
  • Rangers
  • Traffic Police
  • Excise Police
  • Customs Police
  • Pakistan Army (on occasion)
  • Military Police (Army)
  • Air Police (Air Force)
  • Naval Police (Navy)

and im pretty sure im leaving out quite many..

The funny thing is….. even after so many of them….. we’re not safe!?

Just another scam to get funds from the government. The security in the city is flawed. There is no Inter-Agency cooperation. You forgot the Airport Security forces and a few hundred dozen security companies.

Only “POLICE” is for public safety which is sadly a mafia itself. All other police are used for enforcement in their own departments.

Does anyone know where the term “Capital City police” came from? — Karachi is not the capital anymore…

I live in Dubai and was just going through a shopping mall today with a friend. Incidently, we were discussing the same issue. We saw a small area where small kids were being managed by a shop and kept busy with activities like painting and puzzles while their parents shopped in peace. Here in Dubailand, this is a common sight, but can we trust strangers with our kids back home in Pakistan???

    @ Farrukh, true very true
in fact come to think of it, has anyone though about how one is carefree when you go abroad, so breaking of traffic lights, people driving in lanes, traffic congestions and all other problems for all those drivers

Living in khi for my entire life now, I am still scared to go visit friends who distantly live in any area off of Hassan Square and Nipa. Are you scared of any such areas like these?
