doob raha hai apna sher
Its been raining heavily for two days now… and now, the city is almost drowning… the scary thing is… the rains gonna pour for two more days still!
Yesterday, i posted that the underpass was dry….. BOY was i mistaken! Even though it had survived the first day onslaught quite well.. the second day saw it filling up to the brim with water following a failure of the drainage system and was 14 feet underwater..
but it didnt stop there… there was almost a foot of water all the way from the underpass to the PSO building, which i tried traversing to get home… and did so with a lot of difficulty!
This picture shows the front of the Allied Bank Head Office… Looks like its located on the side of a CANAL instead of a road! It was so bad… i literally felt my car floating for a while.. before the wheels found ground again! Each time a car would cross me from the side… the generated wave would hit the bottom HARD!
Karachi looklin like Venice, I say these are signs of The Rapture!
I felt that same thing the floating effect three years ago when it rained in 2003 just like that..
GOD save the city!
Dang! So much rain in KARACHI?? Unbelievable!
hah it reminds the rains of 2003 if any one
remeber, but now karachi is so far away
enjoy it guysi it won’t harm you people,
com on you are living in concrete jungle
14 people died , enjoy please. I am sorry, I am feeling bitter. I never liked rain in Karachi when it could have such a high toll. Sorry its just me , you people just have fun.

that news did not exist by that time
now i take my words back okay guys be safe
and dont try to enjoy at all
being safe is the operative word here…
verysmart: its terrifying! that feeling!
Striker , its been for ever, not a new thing but I guess we have become so insensitive that we do not care any more. Every time it rains, 10+ people die. Could you believe that walls and ceilings of some houses fell on people due to this rain, how could they be save ?? Not every one has concrete or brick walls. Some people houses are beneath road level and water enters into their houses(its very common scene in old areas and I have seen it by myself at friend’s place few years ago).
Any how I dont wanna spoil fun, Karachites do not have enough opportunities to celebrate. But just a thought ….
PPH: i know the feeling your getting.. it is very unfortunate… however, at the risk of sounding insensitive, we cant do much about it… people choose their own place to live, and if they come here to ‘search for a better life’ then these challenges with them too.
P.S. Even my house gets leaky whenever it rains, (though thankfully no walls have dropped yet) the one besides my house is almost dilapidated though
I like “uderpass swiming pool party”! Beleive it or not, i was watching news on PTV-prime Europe last night, didn¬¥t even bother to mention rain or loss of lives in Karchi.
Well, there was something about “Niche darje ka selab in Jehlum”! OH yeh, and much more about what General thinks about next election in 2007!!that¬¥s not a news really, we all know what¬¥s gonna happen in 2007!
16 lost lives in karachi don´t make news, something to think about
people choose their own place to live Great , can’t agree more. Its just useless to spend time here. Night guys
Thankfully no rain today. Water would take couple of days to dry, atleast.
pph: night :) n dont take it 2 heart
PPH….wish you would drown your sense of humor (and yourself) in the KPT underpass…..you get soooo irritating (and holier then thou) at times….chill….get a life…and leave this blog…:)
