Jashn-e-Azadi 4: The True Color??

http://karachi.metblogs.com/archives/images/2006/08/flag-thumb.jpg

As the independence day approaches, I see more & more Houses waving a Pakistani flag. It just makes me wonder if we even have a ‘DETAILED specification of our National Flag’. I mean I find the flag in all kinds of greens and the even proportion of white is to green isn’t the same. According to the CIA Factbook:

green with a vertical white band (symbolizing the role of religious minorities) on the hoist side; a large white crescent and star are centered in the green field; the crescent, star, and color green are traditional symbols of Islam

If you look at the picture above *which is digitally altered* it shows some of the colours of the flag that I have seen on the streets in Karachi. So any idea which one is the real one??

I think the government should seriously look into this matter and should issue licenses to the companies and provide them with full specifications of how the flag should look like and they should keep a check on the standards. USA has some very strict laws about their National Flag. I think we should do the same. Its a matter of National Identity and our National Pride. All comments welcome!

PS: I have seen some terrible terrible terrible pictures of the Pakistan flag on the billboards of Karachi, so if any media company or whoever wants some cleaner nicer high resolution pictures of the Pakistani flag, I will provide free of charge. email me at illusionfs [at] gmail [dot] com

I think a slightly darker shade of the one on the extreme right is closest. Normally there are books and guides that give exact specs of the flag available in bookstores during August. T.V. Channels also give the specs sometimes. I am sure a search on google will help.

I read a news article in DAWN a couple of days ago that said the government was taking steps to ensure that all flags produced in Pakistan this independence day were not defaced by cartoons and other stuff and were made to specifications. I wonder how far that plan was implemented…

On August 14, a woman went to a shop to buy Pakistani flag. The shopkeeper gives her a Pakistani flag. She looks at it for a while and ask one question

    …… Shopkeeper faints

    What does she ask?

    “Isme koi doosra colour dikhao”

    :D

NANCY: I belive this was started by a designer “IllusionFS” (Illusion, am i right?)

May be and may be not, But this is for sure that the person has an eye of quality. (The desiner’s way of vewing). Being quality consious is not a bad thing. Infact it is the ONLY thing that can make anything better.

And for your information, the dresses you where, the cars you see, the furnuture you have, the ‘WOW-cooool’ things, are all the creation of a designer (No matter what he deisgns) and they are like as they are just becuase of the designers.

And as for the colours, I don’t think they would have mentioned the C,M,Y and K of the colour, I think they should by checking the old flags.
