Restaurant Review #3: Ciao

Is it just another coffee joint mushrooming in Zamzama or does it have anything interesting to offer? Read the review to find out.

Cafe Ciao is located at Zamzama on the same street as Costa Coffee.

Environment is nice and friendly (what a clich√©!), couches and sofas are becoming a norm in cafes in Zamzama. I haven’t really been very comfortable with it ‘cuz it feels too low, and then the table is also very low which makes it hard to eat. Anyway, if everyone is doing it then it must be liked by the masses.

Like most cafes in the area, the menu offered pretty much everything, from sandwiches and wraps to hot and cold coffee and beverages, and finally the desert. I really don’t know what their specialty was, but the sandwiches we ordered were not bad at all. The prices were at par ranging from 150 to 300 per item (you are eating in Zamzama, what else do you expect?).

So the bottom line, there was nothing extraordinary about Ciao, yet it is a decent hangout place for a group of friends on any given day. Thing is, there aren’t many entertainment options in Karachi when you are hanging out with folks so you can only go to one of these cafes. It’s kind of good to have more places like this as it gives you more choice.

Ya its nice to have these kind of caffes in karachi. i’ve been there and the food is ok, the coffee is not better than the costa coffee but the smoothies are the best they are offering.Over all i had a good experience.

Sounds good, but much the same as other places opening up on Zamzama. The best new place for coffee that i have visited is Latte Lounge, so someone should post a review of that place here to continue the series, which is a good idea btw.
