Celebration is in the air

In the build-up to KEEF 2006, the first Electronics fair in Karachi, there was an atmosphere of celebration at Electronics Market, karachi’s premier destination for everything mobile.

This picture was taken on the eve of the event. Flyers, posters, billboards from all major mobile companies and distributors, such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Advance Telecom, United Mobile and Mobilezone all decorated the small street creating an festival scene. Seems like they’re not taking this event as ‘just another event’ and really want to make it karachi the premier destination for such fairs

Look’s like the real fare is at the electronic market and not at the Expo :) .. I think I will need to pay them a visit early in the morning to avoid the Mobile Crazed Crowd. :P

People all over the world are using cell phone but I dont know why there is a sudden boom of mobile phones in Karachi’s market. Seems all of a sudden. Any one knows whats the reason behind that ?
    1. Is it bcoz the service charges are too low ?
    2. Is it bcoz ppl really need cell phone ?
    3. The charges are low bcoz these companies want everybody to get addicted and then they will increase the service charges ?

The boom is for the GSM Mobile phone sets, for some odd reason everyone wants an Expensive mobile with Camera, when they get one they want to keep switching the models either to a better (more expensive) one or the a more latest one.

Addiction to mobile phone ?? Its liability. I still use 3310 and I love it because of its reception. I am thinking to discontinue my service once I am out of contract. How beautiful it would be that no one could reach me and I could reach every one :-).

one more reason is because of resale.. the older a phone gets, the lessor the resale price… so u get a pretty good new handset for a fraction of the cost by trading in.

Another reason (sadly) is the booming mobile phone snatching market :@
