Getting away with murder

The death of a boy who slipped and fell in a toxic dump on an open field in SITE caused an outcry in the press and for a while it seemed that action would be taken against the culprits. But as the issue slipped off the radar of Karachites the inevitable seems to be happening – the powerful are getting away with murder yet again.

But there is hope – media coverage of the issue may cause the courts to stir. Let’s hope some judge or other functionary of the SHC was reading today’s News and ensures that the boy’s father sees justice done.

CY, I guess you said that you would post as long as you were in Karachi.I have no problems you posting from there , we are all used to of how laws are moulded in one’s favor. Please clarify.

Yo Yo: In Pakistan the high courts and supreme court can take suo moto action based on even a newspaper article.

PPH: Your problem is that you make too many assumptions. Like right here you assumed that because I wrote about a flight to England a few days ago I’m going to be staying there.

CY. My problem is my existance. Any how the thing is that when you were in Khi , you did not know how long you would be there so you posted it from there but now when you are no more in Khi you should not post as long as you are not vacationing in UK. Did you go there for vacations? If yes then you are all set. If not then you have no rights to post or at least no right to criticize any social problems. The problem is that we all break laws in our capaicty and then we blame leaders. CY clarify further please.

And regarding Altaf Hussain, do you want him to come back and killed by Military/ISI . He is a politican , I do not care he is good or bad but if you are going to kill any one via military operation, I would oppose it.

I think CY’s post brings to light the injustice dealt out to a poor citizen of Karachi. The only chance for the poor man to get justice is if the story remains in the media. That is exactly what CY is trying to do.

Keep up the good work CY.

PPH :brother , you have the right to your opinion and i have the right to mine ..and now that i am thinking about it ..yes , i wouldnt mind if Altaf comes back and gets killed. he is only responsible for the death , and destruction of thousands of kids and homes -young people in the flower of their youth killed mindlessly and mercilessly . he lead and let MQM become a organised crime oufit whose primary job was/is
to steal from the very same people of karachi who elected them , faithfully , year after year , and they still do.
he can not hold a intelligent conversation for a microsecond and basically exploited the people of karachi using thier ethnicity . he may have good intentions in the begining ..but , to borrow the same phrase that CY used in another post..Road to hell is paved with good intentions.
and , for whatever its worth, – i am as mahajir as they come ,grew up listening to all these stories about how my grandparents and uncles in India owned these properties and Hawali’s and all that stupid bullshit .
my apologies to CY and others as this commentary has nothing to do with the original post . but all the Altafs, and Benazirs, and Nawazs …maybe it will be better if they and the likes of them just died . but i know i know …no such luck , as they say .

DV, agreed with you but I always believe in second chance. People do mistakes and leaders are people too so why not give them one more chance. They might fail again but I am sure one day some one good will come out of these politicans, we just have to show patience and have to give sacrifices for coming generations.

PPH I get where are you coming from.I am also in big favor of Democracy but what I have experinced that these so called democratic parties doesnt really represent awam of this country.I should give blame to our jahil awam who forget their sins and elect them again but I think awam of this country is being destroyed slowly by attacking on them with different problems.KESC,poor constructions, mehngai, sectarian violence, dish culture and now bringing up religious issues in poor manner, such things have really screwed people of this country.Just visit karachi now and see how people are leading life, they are more indiscipline than past. They fight with each other for little thngs.the reason is that they feel themselves pretty helpless and in the presence of such conditions I dont think something good comeup in near future.Allah knows the best

PPH:We have been giving sacrificed for last 59 years and culprits of Army, fudals and politcians didnt quit the habbit of sucking. As one i read in Quran that God doesnt help to that nation which doesnt bring change in itself.
