How ya doing Karachi ?

Hello Karachi. Recovering after a weeks fever, throat infection (thanks also to city’s growing air pollution) I decided to call few friends, colleagues and relatives only to find that many of them are ill too & on the bed, resting & recovering. Most of them have the same problem: Fever, cough, throat infection etc. Few channels told us that the city is running out of medical facilities at government hospitals (as if there had been ample supply ever) due to unusual increase in number of patients. With my blood test reports due in few days I hope everyone out there is taking good care. The virus seems to be everywhere. I had to wait for 3 hours before I got a chance to see the doctor. There were others doctors too but I did not take a chance. I pray this dengue does not end up turning into something big due to negligence of our health officials & lack of resources or activeness because we sure are not prepared for such a time. With DAWN reporting this and other channels telling nothing different, is our beloved Karachi ill this week ? How ya all Karachiites doing ?

Here in US also ppl are sufferining from flu now-a-days, so its not just Khi, but I guess this dengue virus in Khi is much more dangerous.

Oh shoot the coming up next would be ‘polan’ (repeated sneezing attacks, runny nose, itchy eyes, itchy throat).

It’s quite alarming these days when somebody gets high fever. Better to get blood checked ASAP for Dengue virus. It’s also advised to avoid open places at sun rise and fall, use mosquito repellent in homes/offices.

May Allah save us all from Dengue virus.
