Ways of missing Karachi

Having asked a friend living abroad, “What do you miss the most about Karachi?”
“Karachi, yaar” was the reply.
“What in Karachi?”

And there came a long list: “PIDC ka bun kebab, Orange wali ice lolly, bakery key chips, Bengali ka churun (LOL!), Lala walay Badam, Nazimabad key Qulfi walas, Woh chand raat per larkiyon ka rush (HUH???), woh crank calls (Hahaha!!!, good ol’ days), 8:00 Bajay walay Dramay, DMC ki bachyan (Really:-o), Karachi University ki “prem Galli”,KU canteen key rolls……”
Phew! Seems like we all have our strings attached to some thing (or may be many things) in this beloved city “Karachi”.

Well, my reason for missing Karachi is simple: it’s HOME, a place where I was born and raised.

Same, got a sense of belonging to that place – no matter how much I call adoptive homeland “home’ :P

first of all sorry it should be

“ok lets b practical, how many ‘not much’ of them really wanna come back and spend their lives here in karachi”

@unaiza there are always exception and your family may be one of them but when it comes to reality, people normally keep themselves to word of mouth. most of them feel free to say and comment about karachi but in turn they really dont wanna come back again

    What ever!
where ever we live, the thing is “Karachi lives in our hearts”.
Be possitive, even the ones who cannot come back to Karachi, for some reasons (again, what ever the reasons are) they publicize Karachi by telling people how much fun it is.
    It’s like spraeding the word.
Chill! every one have a right to live, the way they wnat to live.Life has given us an oppurtunity avail it the way you want it.

    just another post.

@ Unaiza…just curious, what country/city you moved to Karachi from? I am interested into moving back to Karachi as well but want some insight on what you miss and not miss about place you lived before moving to Karachi? By the way I am in Houston, TX USA.

i spent my whole life in karachi and then moved to newzealand about 6 years ago, i miss karaachi like hell. Cant wait to come back and live there again. having said that im realistic i know i’ll ahve to deal with problems with electricity, water traffic etc. If i come back thinking it’ll be roses and hearts then of ocurse i’d be in for a shocker.

in fact i harp on about Karachi ive convinced two of my friends from New Zealand to come and visit karachi with me in December 2007 so really looking forward to that.

@ Unaiza… I am not much of a blogging guru myself, even-though I do have a blog myself at blogger.com but; I am not able to get any contact page when clicking on contact page(http://www.unaizanasim.com/contact). Is it link issue, or you dont have any contact info there? If not I should follow poster “√Ñ√ü‚îÇ√á‚îÇ” in asking…how should I email you? :)
    Thanks.
    Sameeh.
