It ends… and another begins

IDEAS 2006 is finally over! Life should be coming back to normal.. but just a little. They took down the extended lighting and im pretty sure the 25k strong force is definately halved now, but the effects can still be seen on sh-e-faisal. Ranger deployments are there, and a couple of the rental corollas still patrol the streets.

The next international event to come to karachi is the 5 day Pak Vs. West Indies test match being played in National Stadium from the 27th, barely a two days after the mega even of IDEAS.

Seems like the ranger patrols and security details will continue…. but atleast now we get to enjoy some cricket. Anyone willing to go cheer on the team?

Oohh Goody! Now, more traffic jams and more road blockades.

And the good news, well read it in today’s (Sunday) Dawn, that the President will be inaugurating KU’s HEJ Institute, tomorrow, ie. Monday. If that happens, than the whole G-e-I and half of G-e-J will be blocked off for denizens.

City nazim announced a signal free corridor from air port to site. It’s been divided into 5 zones and SF-gulshan is one of them. Development (read destruction) work will start simultaneously on all 5 zones.
