What do you do when…
….in peak high traffic hours, the driver infront of you believes he is in the dating lane???
“The dating lane” is far left lane on certain roads where aspiring romantics drive slow and enjoy each others pleasant company. This term was coined revealed to me by a seaview resident, who gets to see these pretty often.
Back to the question….imagine yourself in the far right lane, during peak traffic hours (say 8.15/20 am), on Shahrah e Faisal and the driver ahead of you strolls at a leisurely pace…..what do you do??
This is not a poll…..commenters may feel as creative as they please. but whatever you do, please do not post a comment that says “i agree with xyz….i would do the same etc etc…”…
Get those creativity juices flowing…
:)
(in case you were wondering what this has to do with karachi aside from the fact that Shahrah e faisal has been mentioned, well….i faced this scenario this morning…was left wonder what all one could do).
only thing left will be wrestlin cars on adjacent lanes n crossing him…..
Wish them best of luck. And get your own one dude. What else you can do. Or if you are that much interested, go and ask them if you can join their company. You can probably ask them if they can be interviewed for such a dare, or ask how do they do it. Just kidding.
Hey creativity has no limits, ya know? So how about ask them if they have seen your friend. Or how about ” This was suppose to be my place. I booked it”. Lolz
Ask them what they think about a proper (official) dating place in Khi ?.
just be patient, or honk a bit if you’re in a major hurry. i dont think people can be that unnerving…
I simply stick my truck on their bumper with hand on horn and revving my trusty 3k cc non turbo diesel engine , always work effectively on these road hogs.
Bhai agar app ko jaldi naheen to kisi aur ko to na rooko
Just give them a slight nudge from the back — thats what bumpers are for: to gently hit the car in front of you. The other driver will inevitably stop and pull over to confront you — meanwhile you can just race ahead and leave him behind standing on the roadside :)

honk the horn hard… make it unbearable for the person ahead to come to his/her senses or if you are a GTA fan then you know how to hurt them pull the guy out of the car and start beating the hell out of him
Following are the things if we really want to make a difference and solve traffic issues we can start by addressing to the following Issues
1) What we need to do is to read Highway code and tell other to read it as well
http://www.theorytestadvice.co.uk/HCPlus/HCPlus/hcplus.html
2) Always stay on the Left hand side unless over taking the slower vehicle
3) Patience, We can reach our destination 5 minutes late if we observe patience but also makes us less angry and frustrated while and after driving.
install a separate horn thats painful on ears and is simply unbearable , i have got one on all my vehicles and it does wonders.. if i encounter cases like these then i simply honk them to hell…..
Get a life! you are in karachi remember !
its raining outside my window….the first winter rain….i hope its all over the karachi and not just on my head….
The traffic of Karachi is getting from bad to worse in last two/three years.
If we really want a change then everyone will have to play a role to improve the situation.
Adhering to three basic principles may avoid majority of traffic jams;
1.If we always ‘give way’ to the traffic coming from the ‘right’ side. Remember, the one on the ‘right’, has the right to go before you.
2. Follow the traffic lights (signals), they are there for some other reasons than to make Karachi-A city of lights.
3. If the buses could stop only at their designated stations (bus stops) only.
Aint that too simple??
Tamed~.
I would overtake from the left and stop the car in front and show him/her a finger! Thats what I always do; sometimes thrice a day! You may find such losers everywhere in Pakistan!
Ignore him or her and change lanes….that is what I would do.
Life is too short to either waste confronting people or driving slow behind someone.
