Poll: Favourite News Source

From the last QOD, it is clear a lot of different people hold a lot of different views. No wonder the news media industry flourishes so much. To put it into a more quantitative form, lets have a vote on which news source is your favourite.

Happy Voting!

You have missed two options, NONE OF THE ABOVE & ALL OF THE ABOVE. I use all of them. In the presence of Internet, people re not dependant on single kind of source anymore.

Ok Mansoor it means I am not eligible for this poll because my favorite news source is “RSS Bandit”, a Rss Feeds aggregator software which covers all mentioned options except TV. I hardly watch TV now.

Thanks to my mom who prefers to watch GEO and STAR+ most of the time. ;/

First thing in the morning Dawn… then rest of the day its either GEO or AJJ (ARY sux, its newscasters are mostly unprofessionals and can’t even pronounce words correctly, Haji(Gold) sahib is just running the channel to mint money)

kmb and bbcurdu.com are the other online sources that i use for karachi specific news/activities..

Dr.Shahid’s Views On news Rocks and no other channel is able to produce program of that quality.

it might help to differentiate between one’s favourtie news source and the most used one, cos sometimes you are compelled to use a source that is not of your preference.

for me, the source i use the most is bbcnews.com even though i know that its coverage is not half as comprehensive and impartial as the it claims it to be.

I hate CNN, In 1998 when there was a genocide happing in Rawanda, they were covering OJ Simpson’s Trial 24×7 and simply ignored what was happening in Rawanda. Media these day are causing more harm than ever for humanity. Comments??

CAPITAL TALK n JAWAB DEYH are the BEST……. TALK SHOWS and not sources of news…. of course…

i read the jung for what is possible and the Dawn for what has passed…
watch the Ptv for what was gold and Ary for how it should have been…..
also i watch the cnn for the pope’s address and the bbc for what he actually means.

As for news i go for DAWN, THE NEWS, JANG in local and BBC, CNN, GEO, ARY & just recently onto AAJ & CNBC Pakistan. Used to check FOX some time back as well but not anymore, they are too biased to trust upon.

In programs NEWS on VIEWS (Dr. Shahid), JAWABDEH (Iftikhar), CAPITAL TALK (Hamid Mir), LIVE with TALAT ( Talat), DUSRA PEHLU (Mujahid Barelvi), almost regularly & some other programs (depending upon if i am there, not regular though). And some religious programs that keep on changing.

Apart from the above i try my best to get onto the web related to all the above and the first thing obviously is to check KMB for anything local.

SS is right too. CNN & at times BCC keep on forgetting that they are an international channel and keep on telecasting same USA related story again and again.

Wasiq: I really enjoyed your comment. Well said and infact it actually happens like that.

Mb, I would prefer 4ManShow over Jawab Deh or Capital Talk =)
