What bugs me is why our officials act like je*** when an exhibition/event is organized. They act as if it’s been done once in 100 years, blocking easy access to nearby localities of that particular area all in the name of security. Not thinking about the hell common man has to go through because of it.

One reason for that may be they don’t do their homework throughout the year so they have to make “special arrangements” for every event that is organized there.

Looking at the map, I wonder if the concerned authorities in Pakistan have ever made an effort to make the detailed city map of Karachi or other cities of Pakistan that depicts the recognized/registered streets and point of interests for non resident citizens and tourists alike. I would say even for those who live in the city for decades may not be familiar with new roads and streets of this ever growing city. I am not aware if this assignment has ever received its due recognition with city planners or at federation level by Geological Survey of Pakistan.

We live in 21st century and by using satellite navigational gadgets or for that matter Google Earth, one can easily map the whole of Pakistan on paper like we find in developed nations. After all we are nuclear state and in no way behind from other nations. We only lack sincerity and commitment to build our nation the way it should be. I know that there is one for Islamabad but that too lack details.
