Mansoor , thanks for the chuti ka schedule , this year most of the holidays are on weekdays so 15 din kam ka harja ( muslim chuti + national chuti only ) , in some countries when a holiday fall on a weekend , the next working day is a holiday , the same is case with the multinationals operating in Pakistan , now as a developing nation if a holiday falls on a working day can we declare the coming or previous Sunday as a working day .
Also change the Ashura chuti to 29th – 30th Jan Monday and Tuesday
Its good for an employee to enjoy 15 days holidays in a year but I was wondering if its good for a developing country like Pak. to have these many holidays ?
Following is the schedule of holidays for 2007 in US (Developed country).
New Year’s Day Monday, January 1, 2007
Memorial Day Monday, May 28, 2007
Independence Day Wednesday, July 4, 2007
Labor Day Monday, September 3, 2007
Thanksgiving Thursday, November 22, 2007
Christmas Tuesday, December 25, 2007
Lots of long weekends :-)
Forgot to add atleast 15 days of strikes (In Khi) in a year which makes up 30 days in a year.
@KhiTorPit,
Your list of holidays in the US has left out some officialy observed holidays.
Jan. 15 Martin Luther King day
May 28 Memorial Day
July 4 Independence Day
Sep. 3 Labor Day
Oct. 8 Columbus Day
Nov. 11 Veterans Day
My apologies
You did mention Memorial, Labor and Independence Days.
The holidays which you have mentioned Martin Luther King day, Columbus Day and Veterans Day although its official but many non-govt. organization dont consider them as a holiday.
@Mansoor: Parsis’ Nauroz is celebrated in April, not in August-
Navroz is celebrated both, in April AND in August.
See today is 15th of Jan. Martin Luther King day and we are in today :(
