Inaugration ceremonies

Watching politicians and other celebrities inaugrating events, projects, developments etc has become a normal thing now. Too many times I have questioned this practice. The only thing that happens during those ceremonies is politicians boasting about how great their government is to develop such projects and those who are not on our side are agents from across the border, while in the mean time common people die in traffic jams. Is it really necessary to do such a show?

If a project is good, just let it start and people will notice it on their own. You can publicize it as much as you want on the media, but why do you need a famous person to start a road, a bridge, or a building? You build it for people so let people use it. If it is good people will praise whoever is behind it. Does that sound too complicated?

There are cases in Karachi where single project is inagurated twice by both Mustafa Kamal and Naimatullah because project stared in tenure of Naimatullah and completed when Mustafa Kamal was in power I guess this happen to FTC bridge.Does anyone have complete story?

Well, if these VVIPs(Very, Very Idiotic Persons) do not inaugurate something from time to time, then how would they get their pics published? It is as simple as that.

Disclaimer: All these so-called inaugurations has nothing to do with the viability of the related projects.

Love you Umar for highlighting this issue. I keep on repeating same thing. And i have already said enough in Ground Breaking for Twin Towers“.

In short we now should reverse the culture i.e How about having a ceremony only when the project is completed. This will be the first step. The second would be to tell those abnormal people that having a road, having a water line & having an electricity line is our right and these politicians are not doing this as a favour. Thats there duty and they are being paid heavily for it. So they stick their good a** on work and do it properly. In my whole life i have yet to come across any PM or president from USA,UK,JAPAN,GERMANY etc to be inaugurating bullshits. There are some exceptions & those are very rare. As i had said there the British queen didn’t even meet her own relatives in her own locality because she said she had her table filled up with files to read & look at. Take a clue Paki politicians…..

Umar…what u are shedding light towards clearly shows how much democracy we have got in our country….its all political commercialization to get more votes by publicizing their so called achievements in front of media……what an ‘Aam Aadmi’ can get in terms of making his choices and decisions is still a dream….

Public Nashukari hoti hai and they have a very short attention span.

If the goverment (who are paid to do all that they are doing) were to make all these projects and not boast about them the public would eventually forget who made them. They would remember the bad and not the good.

Especially Mushy he has to show he is showing an interest in Karachi personally, its important to maintain a cordial relationship between the provinces. Or else Khi has a habit of blaming Punjab for everything.

Also if you do good for the city you should boast about it because bloody hell finally someone is.

@ MB in the post about the corridor you said if anyone was given this sort of money they would do the same thing.

Bro, you forget one thing the money was always there it just wasnt utilised in the past. Probably the entire amount was pocketed by the government instead of the kickbacks tht Altaf Bhai is taking now.

I am sure MQM has made alot of money out of this but they have also done something for the city. Give credit where credit is due. and stop bitching all the time.

    Public Nashukari hoti hai

Public nashukri nahi hoti meray bhai magar yes yahan per zaroor hai and that’s basically not nashukri it’s basically a thing called “analysis with a critical lens” and we have billions of reason to do that. What if we have got a new gov. next time and we come up with things like billions rupees going onto this gov. & improper design & sub standard material being used for these construction. Then ?. This is bound to happened because of their own performance in past. Everything form history & logic supports our views on this doubtful view of whatever is going on. Why?. Because if you slap a child 10 times and you extend you hand to shake a hand he will still move away from you thinking you going to slap him again. Sumujh nahi aaya??

Whatever has happened in past gives the awaam enough reason to cast doubts about the intentions of rulers. The awaam has scarified for 59 years now. So its rulers turn to bear these critics for at least 10 years and once we have enough confidence on them for the things they are dong. They too will see a change in perception. The ball is in their court, they have to change the perception.

“@ MB in the post about the corridor you said if anyone was given this sort of money they would do the same thing.”
Please have a readers attitudes dude. Understand statements properly. Let me explain again. I repeat. I had said if you even have a donkey/ horse/ fakeer/ rickshaw waala on gov. seat (instead of Mustafa Kamal) and give him all the resources these guys have. He will deliver the same. So its no big deal. My point was, we really appreciate what ever work is going on but for the results or our awaam’s final views these rulers should wait for 10 years. They should have some patience before getting a CLEAN certificate for awaam, coz its they whose mistakes have led to a bad impression about them.

“Bro, you forget one thing the money was always there it just wasnt utilised in the past.”
Well, this time again you have to wait to find if it “is being utilized” properly or not. No one is denying the work. Throwing money & having roads is not a big deal. As said earlier. My gatekeeper would do that too.

“Give credit where credit is due.”
Which credit is there, that I haven’t given ?. How many of my comments that you have read ?. I keep on saying that this is the first time we are seeing some work and appreciate its volume and pace. But keep in mind these are the first guys who are getting billions after billions. And these are the same guys who had Javed langra, Asif dhobi kind of criminals with them. They definitely have a bad reputation. I am just saying if they want to be respected. They have to continue work for at least 10 years and kick on a** on that guy in London & bring new & clean Muhajir leadership coz the previous ones are all corrupt to core. A guy who has 7 murder charges on him & is known as drinker, they have made him the governor. What you expect us to do ?. Be an ostrich and applaud ? just because there is money being thrown for construction?

    @ MB

God your responses are long, they take ages to read.

See now as for the credit due bit, u are comparing your gate keeper to Mustafa Kamal and that is what i was calling Nashukra. You say give it 10 years and see how this governement and their projects turn out, I have doubts whether they will survive 2007 if PPP comes back in fully.

You have strange way of appreciating, u say things are happening but then u also say any one could have done them.

I am sure you agree that we are way behind (when compared with similar countries) as far as roads, bridges, sewerage, drainange etc are concerned. Well how come ur gate keeper (or the govt before this) didnt step up and build these things then.

I understand tht these ppl have a bad reputation but i like the ideology, which is a common man rules and waderas, chaudaries and jirgas are done away with.

Also leadship doesnt change over night it takes years, be patient.
