gaanay aur movie band karo

is the order issued by the Gulshan Nazim to all shop keepers in the area. The result? Department stores are now closing their music/dvd counters, atleast in the M.A Society area.

This i heard on the day of the “Say no to extremism” rally being held by MQM. I’m wondering if karachi should be named The City of Contradictions now?

Mansoor : Welcome to reality …

Karachi & Pakistan is the best place for contradictions. You see a gadha gaadi with a corolla… or a man throwing millions & other asking for a rupee. Everywhere it happens but here it happens at one place, thats the difference

So i present you the very first post on KARACHI METROBLOG by aalahazrat & paste few lines from it :

After spending one and a half year in Karachi I have been overwhelmed by the city. The inconsistencies and contrasts are unimaginable. There is an enthusiastic optimism about the future along with a desperate desire to forget past violence. There is a growing sense of civic pride in the city along with a feeling of helplessness at not being able to change things.

Karachi slowly grows on its citizens; Karachi grows onto people and people grow onto Karachi. In the end the city changes you and you change the city. That is what Karachi is, an amalgamation of millions upon millions of cultures, thoughts and feelings. Karachi is a state of mind as well as a state of being

Enjoy….. after all its Karachi…. the city of contradictions…

Does the nazim belong to MMA? If he’s MQM guy then I am sure he got pissed after not recieving bhatta from the local shopkeepers.

MQM’s Nazim wasay jalil doing that? …… that simply doesn’t add up… these guys love mujras and other pathetic indian movies why would they close down music/dvd shops… must be some other reason… maybe the music/dvd shop owners refused to pay monthly batha to these MQM goons?….

That Nazim has lots his mind. I dont trust this news either. It sounds like a rumor, clearly only a rumor.

The town nazim is M.Wasay Jalil, who is one of few good leaders of MQM. This news is certainly not true, until the author mansoor provide evidence its mews (news from mansoor).

Maybe he is trying to put the blame on mma for the closure :)

maybe its a stupid anti-piracy drive… anything on software CDs?

Not that I wish to ever defend the MQM..

Shilpa Shetty up 1621% topping the list on yahoo buzz index beating Angelina Jolie and Pamela Anderson by huge margin. An eye opener for Paki girls like Reema, Meera, Neera, Teera, Sheera and Peera. Again Altaf’s fault.

    1 Shilpa Shetty 1621%
    2 Richard Gere 911%
    3 Edward Norton 616%
    4 Charlie Sheen 338%

The author of this post is famous for false reporting and have made posts on same forum which were found fake later. I tried to read the news in today’s paper but no luck. So far it seems that author of the post is frustrated and trying to use the situation to create more gap between people.

If that news is true then i smell a “baghawat” against Altaf bhai =)

Waisey few nazims have become very famous in karachi, one is wasay jalil, the other name i read a lot is Osama qadri of Liaquatabad and 3rd one is Farooq Faria of Saddar.

The pressure is on the author Mansoor to bring some evidence or otherwise lose his credibility. I will definitely stop reading his posts if he is unable to provide a proof of what he reported in his original post about MQM. This is no fun.

  20. d0ct0r (unregistered) on April 19th, 2007 @ 12:02 am

retract this info… MQM’s fan are displeased with you :P

  21. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on April 19th, 2007 @ 1:53 am

doctor, hehe :D. Actually Mansoor wanted to break news so that he could create an environment that karachi was getting *talibanized* as well. I think poor chap had no idea that Nazim of the area is MQM’s member just like Mush had no ideea about CJ iftikhar. Mansoor is just following the footsteps of his elders ;)

Mansoor Adenwala, its been more than 24 hrs now and yet found no evidence from your side. Umar, what kind of people have you nominated who break news without any evidence? Hope to read something in tomorrow papers? *grin*

Maybe this is one of those posts you have to forward to 100 others or else get bad luck for 2 years ….lol…mansoor bro its good idea to just drop the thread, whatever you say next can only be dangerous.
But you have a good (if hypothetical) point, it could happen. “We dont waste our hatred on just anyone” :)
