We did a good thing….(The next level)!!

KMB has acquired quite a serious readership since the launch. There have been numerous times when we highlight a particular socio-political issue, comment on it, and move on!

My point: “Take it to the next level”!!

I’ll first share a personal experience:

While going back home from office during peak evening hours, me and my brother got stuck in a frustrating traffic grid-lock behind Bait-ul-Mukkaram mosque area. The jam was so bad that we didn’t move an inch for 15 min!.

My brother finally got off, took the center of the road and tried to guide the cars and clear the jam. Of course there were dimwits who continued to push-in, but he managed to clear the traffic entirely in 2 minutes or less! He continued guiding the traffic for a while even after i had navigated away from the jam.

Moral: Just with a little patience, a 15 min jam could’ve been avoided within 2 minutes!

Why this post?

KMB has gathered considerate, concerned, educated and (somewhat) resourceful bunch of youth. Our common motto should be: “ONE DAY OUR GENERATION, IS GONNA RULE THE POPULATION”.

We should try and take a step towards making a difference, even it is a tiny step forward.

We need to move forward from signing online petitions and commenting between ourselves.

I have some ideas in my head, and would appreciate everyone’s input on it.

For starters, we need to arrange a Great Big Get-together, where at least, we can see each other faces. I reckon that we must be around 100 odd people who regularly read, if not comment on this forum.

It amuses me to see how people can commit themselves blindly without knowing what they are getting into?

Or is taking it to the next level the fission sentence for the eager ones?

Unless there is going to be a general among you, don’t bet on that.

“Of course there were dimwits who continued to push-in, but he managed to clear the traffic entirely in 2 minutes or less!”

2 MINUTES??? No offense but I think either there was no traffic jam or this guy Furrukh Ahmed is a big liar. Seriously dude, I understand the good message you are trying to convey but why you have to make-up stories?

I will request Geo or Aaj tv to start a program Obsessive compulsive with too much time on their hands and invite you as a chief guest. Peace.

    Good idea.

But be careful because wherever there are more than 2 of us, we play politics. Bad Politics.

Laudable sentiment. But , er, is it possible that many of your readers are from a generation already in power? You did make me smile though, “i have ideas, lets go to the next level, i am just about to tell you, you tell me yours …goodnight and goodluck.” Apparently everyone in this generation is somewhat ADD:)

Well, seems like author had a chance to solve the problem and he took it.I think taking initiative is a good thing and we should do it more often instead of waiting for angels to come down from heaven and do it for us.

the point that farrukh was trying to make was to take things down to the ground roots level, take responsibility and do things right in this world.

how many of you have shown patience on the road of staying in your own lane and not inching towards another one just to get ahead?

i laud farrukh’s brother for taking the lead! keep it up!

Why not KMB go live on electronic media…..i mean try to get a corner on a TV channel to convey the message of our educated/awared/passionate youth that is willing to make a difference in the society….I am sure alot of KMB readers are directly or indirectly related to electronic media as well….Can we follow this approach?? suggestions??

watched Jinnah today… learned onething for sure… the same message which was also delivered by rang de basanti.. if you want to see the change..a positive change, boy youve gotta stand up and do it. i would say start off at an individual level in your own capacity and if you feel you are capable enough than take a lead.. thats the way to go move forward for the better.. to go to the next level.
i like your comment turab… very few people think like that. because it is very difficult to give without any self interest (there is a self interest in this case but its for collective as well). people are selfish and a person is inclined to become more selfish when he has the power over everything. so, the objective is right but the approach has to be right as well.

    – cheers

Read SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE – and apply the theories. (And do read the book before commenting on the validity/use of reading a book. It’s more than a book – it’s an action plan.)

Action comes after preparation. What’s been happening so far in our country is exactly action without thought… or endless contemplation.

Thanx for the support guys (to all who support the idea). Of course, I wanted to share my ideas here but that would’ve made a huge post and we would’ve started politicizing the ideas and ridiculing each other.

For starters, some suggest that we have really big get-together. Well I think we should, if we can! I’m of the opinion that if you want to do something, don’t tie yourself with unnecessary pre-reqs.

For starters, we need a separate, common forum to pool in ideas and then organize an effort to bring about a change, starting at the smallest and least resource-draining project.

I have a separate blog dedicated to this very purpose. Anybody interested should join and mail me the username, and then I will add him / her to the group.

    Hope to see you soon!
