SMS Muggings on Warid

Jamash recently posted how sms’s are going around on the Telenor network, telling you that you can double your balance if you type in a particular code. The code, however, was the code for balance share, and which resulted in money being transferred from your account to someone else’s.

Telenor atleast marketed their Balance Share service, so we knew about it.

Warid is very different on the other hand. Feature-wise, warid has everything other mobile networks offer. Yet, the only thing they dont do is ‘market’ them! Where other networks spend maybe millions trying to sell a service, they just quietly turn it on with no one being the wiser.

Why am i going on about this? Because Warid recently *also* launched balance sharing services, and *also* did not market them. The result? Unscrupulous people making use of it to rob you of your money. I recieved the following sms recently, which i’m quoting verbatim, and since i knew balance share was on (from warids website) i didn’t fall for it, i wonder just how many other people did.

“B 0322274XXXX 60 Hi, I love you ayaz tum buhut beysharam ho tum naikal mujko kiss karkai acha nai kia.yeh meri pics hain is ko 1414 per send karlo ajaey gi ok bye”

Atleast you have to give credit to the guy/girl for being creative. NOTE: NEVER send a msg to 1414 on warid network unless you really want to share your balance with someone.

    haha.

    Sad.

No offense to anyone, (Im a paki too remember),

but it seems that we as a nation are global leaders in all kinds of “harampai”.

    Whats to blame?

    Uneducation?
    Corruption of society?
    Unemployment?
    Desperation?

Or the pleasure we seem to get watching others suffer??.

Allah taala sab ko hidayat de.

Something similar happened to my mother a few days ago. She got a message telling her to send a similar message in order to listen to a voice mail. When she sent it, she found out it was actually a command to transfer Rs. 60 balance. I thought it was quite funny and ingenious, but my mother was pretty upset, so we went to Warid and got the number blocked. Seems it’s caught on, though.

At the end of the day, it’s Warid’s fault for not publicising their features.

MUNK :) “harampai” well said !

as nation we are all involved in “harampai”

for those who do not know what “harampai” means.

Do something evil, act innocent, walk away, smiling and feeling clever.

If caught admit it as “acha mujhay maloom nahi thaa, so sorry, it will not happen again”

Nawaz Shareef did the harampai, khaki grabbed him by ba..$, Khaki did the harampai with CJ he is stuck with them, PPP involved in Harampai using CJ, CJ stuck at KHI airport putting Karachi in chaos why can’t he take a chopper and land in SHC, it is shere HARAMPAI of PPP, they are stuck with MQM in Sindh, MQM doing harampai with media,…. GOD knows who will suffer.

When the supreme one got to get on with HARAMPAI who will be suffering……. PEOPLE LIKE US YOU ME and All others who does not wish to abondon the motherland.
