Karachi – Bandar ka tamasha!

Today it was youym-e-sog, tomorrow it’s a strike call from opposition.
About youm-e-sog, I would just say :
“Kitnay masom hain is dor key qatil dekho
Qatal ker key poochtay hain kafan kis ka hay??””

Like these guys didn’t know weapons are used to kill. If you shoot a guy he will die.
Sog for what??? Because their people died???Or because they were caught in live by the cameras doing the “Good deeds” ?
Did anyone see the press conference called by MQM-ers. It reminded me of how the unit in charges of our university unit used to address their bhais saying ” kam is tarah kia kero key upper tak khabar na jaye”. (And now that “khabar manzar-e-aam per aa hi gaye hay tu masom ban jao.)Obviously this panic was to happen after all the handsome deeds by these bhais came live. They never expected it. (Further shows what a bunch of foolish people)
This was planned. Ammunition was brought in for this qatal-o-gharat. What harm goes of their fathers if tomorrow again is a strike. They earn by snatching mobiles, cars, thefts….
It’s the economy of the nation that will suffer. Inflation, KSE, the value of our money, the virtue of our people and the (already spoiled) image of our beloved country in the whole world. And I’m sure no politician cares for it.

CJP came and CJP went. His mission uncompleted (but, yes if it was the massacre) We the Karachites will have to face this for only God knows how many days. How much damage will be made to the Public property: roads, signals, lights… For God sake, MQM-ers if you love this country this money is all our Governments. The remaining of taxes that the public pays (major amount of which goes in filling the luxuries of the government officals).
Get some senses…
This is all a drama. We all know who is how much in “SOG” and then the opposition is the “Bandar” which has to repeat the same. It is a competition of showing in the strength. Where as the strength is all on rent.

God, save our city, save our people. Give us some sense. Enlight our minds and make us bold enough to speak the truth and to stand by the truth.May peace be there in this city. (Amen)
Long live Karachi.

@Unaiza you are right, and you know what …. to me it seems that all those cell phone snatchers also belong to mqm who have been snatching phones since long time and thats for sure as if they can snatch the skin of animals and can kill ppl as they have all those arms and ammunation, and untill now none of the phone snatchers have been arrested bcoz of our cops who are doing nothing and are with those theifs.

Iss Ghar ko aah kag gaiye ghar kay chiragh say..
(For MQM, who claims to own this city for more
    than two decades now).

I hope these killings & massacre will go a long way to let us see the fall of MQM & their present father Busharraf.

This should be enough for ppl of Pakistan to wake up.

Lastly, CJ should realize & change his poilcy to avoid further killings, I know it was not completely his fault, but he should be aware how the government is going to tackle his further calls of rallies all that democratic bullshit.
He should not give up his struggle, but should change his methodology.

Mqm have no answer for why they have declared a rally on just 12th of May. Infact mqm holds the world record of declaring the maximum number of strikes through out the world, then why just on 12th of may they could have declared it sometime next time, although the rally from CJ has already been declared long time ago.

  5. Babar (unregistered) on May 14th, 2007 @ 4:39 am

Where the hell was Police and Rangers on 12th May. How can the Sindh Govrenment answer this? If the roads for CJ’s rally were already blocked , why not also to put rangers onto street on that day? Suppose it was all the deed of other parties, even then why no police or rangers? why no arrest of any opposition party? Did the government itself wanted this to happen? You dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Political children of a General (Zia ul Haq), have grown up under another General. Their malicious politics have given Pakistan nothing but violence and deaths. They used to swear at (Punjabi) Army and now they are doing everything to fulfill demands of Generals of the same army.
Did they ever think that where they are taking Pakistan to?

@CitizenofKhi, The motive of the rally by mqm was pretty clear that after the successful rally in lhr, the rally called by CJ would have been pretty much successful and too many ppl would have appear in it, that could prove that ppl of Khi are also with them and against the govt.

I was wondering that now if the election will held under the supervision of this army then do you think that anybody else could win even a single seat against mqm ???? no way ….
I know the earlier elections were also not fair in Khi but this time …

it is true that majority of educated urdu speaking people do not go and vote for MQM anymore 9it is evident from the winning margins in the last elections….)

but the problems is that MQM creates so much dahshat that people do not dare vote for their opponenst either. that is why despite their much depleted vote bank they still win most of the seats.

it would be interesting if some can publish the voting patterns of the last 4-5 elections esp in place like nazimabad!

Hello Dear brothers and sisters of all karachi
today is my first time on this website. when i was reading u alls comments i was thinking that if human being start fighting with comments also we can prove any thing because we have no criteria of justice. if we set a standard for truth then we can prove who is wrong and who is right but the bad this is that we measure every thing accoding to out own measuring tools. its gr8 injustice. in Quran a saying that Luqman said to his son Dont measure God with others because its Zulum-e-Azeem .. according to this Zullum is that you place a thing in wrong place. when we place a thing according to his own value that is justice. First of all we must study justice system. what is Judge ? What is power of judgess … if we study our islam we can find that Justic system made by Jews.. but drive from Islam … but not from Quran because God said to Hazarat Ibram that you name is Muslim… and selected you (Ibrahim ) as Imam..so Ibrahim was First Muslim so Islam is started from Ibrahim so Jews and Christians were follwing Islam but whe they changed value i means when they mixup so he said they love me but they done Zulum so i side them and choose you Muhammad Salat-o- Salam … if we deeply study Justice so we can see Greatest Judge is God. and he said in Quran that meen jisey chahoon Izat doon jisey chahoon Zillat… but i want to safe you all( quran) .. there is no comments that God is fully justice. but why he said that its my own choice jisey chahoon means he said i am owner of the universe you are my human so i can do any thing… when prophet stoped by God then a system of committee started ( mushawarat … beena hum shoora Quran meen aya hain matlab Democracy)solving problem with meetings and discussing each others and solving all with all peoples. but we call all peoples knows that we call our kings (Zill-e-Ellahee). why.. becoz they kings capture our lands and they were really owners of the land so human being are on the disposal of King… You r feeling i am saying Bulshit… ok i always .. accept that may be i am wrong becoz i am human being not frishta… there is an example…..
according to my knowledge .. when someone kill my son… all proves provided by me in court and after all killer also accepted that he killed my son. Court will announce detah sentace for that killer. he accpet all that he dont wrong and he must be punished but if he appeal to President and president accept his appeal then what we do …. any one knows … ………….
if you know if court some one really death sentence and President accept his appeal for forgiveness then he will be free and death sentence will exampted. why… he killed my son killeer aceepted .. judge have avidencess but who is hell ( sorry jsut for expresion i use this words for president becoz when someone son killed he will be in anger). but is rule .. why anyone know…. why we pass a law that type … if a president forgive a killer …. which is not his sone killer he killed somoen else son and accpeted also so how can president leaving him alive. … what is reason…. ?
    Is law is wrong… ?
we are also living with injustice… ?
we want that type of laws ?
we can prove this law is wrong ..?

if a president cancel all the proceedings and judges comments for a killer so what is judges authority … what is really of judgess….. in the history in pakistni law and in others countries law …. if you have any answer then we can do some thing more for this country…..
dont fight for Personalities alwasy fight for truth and justice and for law … not for name or personalities… ok….. i will waite for answers…. thanks bye

Why this Chief Justice issue being so hype up? This is not the first case of its kind; there are lot of other examples with similar contexts. The question arises why this case is so publicized in the name of “Independence to Judiciary”. The said CJP was among the one who take loyality oath on General Musharraf. If he was so called “Ghairat Mand” then he should came out of that process along with the others who resigns from their post. Never did he raise voice the Karachi killings in 1990’s. The so called Opposition Parties, when they failed to bring peoples out against Gen. Musharraf they take this situation in their favour deputing legal cum political advisors Mr. Aitizaz Ahsan etc. who dictate the very move of CJP. The things would stop if the legal petition remains within the premises of the court. But the political advisors to the CJP advised him to politicize the issue to take the decision in favor of CJP.

Government, at their end show restraint but when things take momentum, they also take street power to show their strength. The difference between other places and Karachi is that Karachi is a biggest city of Pakistan, so its news. When the Home Department warns the CJP to review his visit as there a chance of violence, he should have considered the severity of the crisis. But his legal cum political advisors keep insist the CJP to visit Karachi.

Reference to the Karachi Violence, all the residents of Karachi knew very well that there are certain forces who did not want the peace and development of the city to serve their vested interest. Since the MQM came into power, these elements keep on creating hurdles in the development of Karachi. Every issue is politicized whether its illegal encroachments, banning of rickshaw, construction of roads, layari expressway, elevated expressway, they keep on politicizing non-issues. On the other hand they also try to disrupt the peaceful educational environment by clashing with students.

The 12 May events were very dreadful, but a layman can think that if the MQM was behind all this, they would be fools, because they tried to tarnish their own image (since they are in a process of organizing in Punjab and NWFP). On the other hand, there are people (like Jamat) who remained silent before the event of 12 May, but know they are leading the media campaign. The most interesting part of this whole incident is that we didn’t see MMA or Jamat-e-Islami on that day rallying for the CJP (as they were leading the processions in other cities) This remains a mystery? We only witness flags of ANP, PPPP, PPI etc. Second interesting thing is there all media reports say that there was a cross fire between the rival groups. Since the opposition was heading to welcome the CJP, why they were armed? What are their motives behind? Do they want to hurt the CJP and blame MQM for that? This is a big question.

The dynamic of Karachi Politics is way different from the rest of the country, the political parties are very well aware of its implications. They know if any thing would happen the first party to blame is MQM. MQM on the other hand is in an awkward situation, they can’t allow these religious fanatics to regain the power and also had to face a joint opposition (found only in Karachi) so they can’t leave the field open for these fanatics.

If we listen to the media reports, opposition single voice blamed MQM for the whole episode and few (shah be badh ke wafadar) called for an immediate ban on MQM calling it a fascist organization. One thing that strikes my mind is that we Pakistani have very short lived memory, or else we would remember the history of those who are calling the MQM (the third largest party in the country) a fascist one. PPP who created AlZulfiqar, PML(N) who stormed the Supreme Court, Jamat-e-Islami who opposed the creation of Pakistan and created AlShams/ AlZulfiqar in 1970’s, PPI who were the mastermind of Punjabi/Pathan/Mohajir clashes in Karachi, MMA who were behind the Taliban and suicide bombings etc. I have named only few incidents, the historians knows it better.

Stop blaming the MQM for what happened in Karachi, it is the responsibility of every party doing politics in Karachi to share the responsibility equally. The CJP should also be blamed as he had received the reports that there is a possibility of clash between rival groups.

    salman:

no other party but MQM said that karachi is ours and we won’t let any other party dopolitics here.

You saw the result on the 12th.

pls note that there are around 45% non urdu speaking peoplein karachi out of which around 15% are pathans who are also well armed. 20% punjabis, 10 % sindhis and baluchs…etc

not to talk of the million or so afghans who are not even covered in the census.

so can tell me what willhappen if MQM tries take away other peoples political right to protest???…extactly what u saw on the 12th.

by the way don’t u c any difference betw people who fire on a peacefull rally and people trying to protect themselves from being killed….it is called self-defence. esp when everyone knew the police and rangers are with the attackers!

  44. Petarian_88 (unregistered) on May 16th, 2007 @ 1:32 am

just imagine what the death toll would have been if the oppsition was not armed! i guess more then a few hundreds.

MQM supporters canpost as many pic of ANP supporters firing/armed as they like but everyone know who was attacking and who was defending himself!

if some thief attacks a house and the people of the house fire on the thieves, does it make the defenders as guilty as the attackers.

in any case the claim of MQM that 10 of it’s workers were killed has deeb dis-proven. 7 bodies were those of opposition workers. 2 ot of the other 3 were pathans, do u think the pathans were MQM supporters?

    @Petarian_88

Dear how could you that the ANP gunmen were defending themselves. You can not judge from a picture that a person is attacking or defending. Only answer one question, Let suppose what you are saying is right for a moment, what are these ANP walas doing with ammunition. They were supposed to greet the CJP at the airport, why they were so heavily armed with latest ammunition.

Yeh to kisi aur mohaz ki jang thi jo Karachi main lari gai…

Regarding your figures, don’t segregate the peoples of Karachi on Ethnic basis. They do have differences in politics but they all are the residents of Karachi. Every party has a right to protest, but don’t politicise the judicial matter in streets.

I have raised one question in my previous post, where were the MMA people on that day? We didn’t see a single MMA or Jamat flag on 12th May, Why? Can anyone solve this mystery..

Iam not defending any ethnic community. the facts and figure r public knowledge.

so you wanted the ANP supporters to come un-armed and be slaughtered in even greater numbers??

canu defend MQM on this? If not, then don’t you think think they should be taken to task?? like dismissal of their govt.?

put that ain’t going to happen has the Mush and PM have voiced their all out support for their allies and their great deeds,

PM called Altf and condoled with him:)) can it get any worse?

    dear pakistanis:
on 12th may im not going to put my words .but my question 2 all the opposition parties is that,
“WHERE WERE THEY WHEN 1600 PEOPLES WERE KILLED IN THE 1992 OPERATIONS AGAINST MUHAJIRS(MQM)”
(on record there was not a single ralley held by any party 4 the routhless killing of human beings)
if fighting for rights is terrorism then i think mqm is the biggest one.
“NOW ALL THE OPPOSITION PARTIES ARE HELPING OUT THEMSELVES FOR THE UPCOMING ELECTION AFTER THE DEATH OF 40 PEOPLES”
    thanks
