Breaking News ! A massive traffic jam
There is a massive traffic jam In Karachi due to some unrest in Aziz Abad and other parts of the city. It’s been more than three hours and traffic is almost at a standstill on Rashid Minhas Road and Main University road, Cars have started taking detours into the residential area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal clogging almost every main road of the area. Several cars have run out of fuel, many others have heated up. People tired of driving have parked their cars on the road side to take a rest. Busses are over loaded with people sitting even on the roof of the busses.

A man told me iyt took him five hours to reach from Sadar to Gulshan, he was going home to his home in North Nazimabad, but his car over heated so he parked to give it and him self a rest.
I also spotted an ambulance stuck in the jam near Iqra University Gulshan campus in block 2. the driver told me that he picked up the patient two hours ago from near Karsaz road, he was headed to Abasi Shaheed Hospital but was stuck in this stand still traffic congestion. The area people had opened up a lane’s closed barricade to let him through another way, but there is little hope for him to reach his destined hospital in time.

Let me tell you what i noticed midnight yesterday.

I was waiting for my van driver to pick me up at 10:45 but he arrive around 12:00 & he told me that few guys near Nazimabad > Lasbela started throwing stones. One hit our van & the driver hurriedly ran off from the scene.

Later he picked me & and when we reached Quaid-e-Mazar we saw a police van there. Then as we move towards ALLAH WALA chowrangi we saw fire blockades on our way. GEO team was also there to capture the moments. The fire was on both sides of the road & it was probably nearby kachra & tyres.

As we reached near SHARA-E-FAISAL everything was normal and clean.

My poor driver drove continuously for 7 hours in massive traffic jam all over karachi to pick office employees.

yar, u talk about university road and rashid minhas road I was stuck in one of the worst traffic jams of my life on MA Jinnah Road, I usually reach home at 6.00 PM from PIDC to Numaish but yesterday I reached at 8.30 PM, it seems that the whole city from MA Jinnah to university road was badly blocked, near SEA BREAZE hospital there was pices of broken glasses and burning tyres, it seems that power riots are taking place throgh out the city… I think that KESC loadshadding policy is also a part of Mushraf’s “Enlightened Moderation”!!! what do you think????

It took me no less than an hour to reach Gulshan Chowrangi from Nipa Flyover. Had to reach N.Nazimabad & I usually take Gharib abad route but due to its blockage I chose the later. Still couldnt reach home & decided to stay @ a friend’s place in Gulshan . Now back to office from there. :(
