Harry Potter launch ceremony cancelled

There was a bomb threat at Park Towers, Clifton, a while ago. A 10-kg bomb was recovered from one of the cars parked outside. Henna has covered that in detail here.

As a result of the bomb threat, though, the Harry Potter launch ceremony which had been scheduled for 04:00 a.m. July 21 (tonight) at Park Towers has been cancelled. The Liberty Books outlet there will open up at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, and the book will be sold “unceremoniously.”

*bursts into tears*

Hey you burgers! shove Harry Potter crap up your whatever and pick up the first book in Daastaan-e-Ameer-Hamza series. If you can’t read it, try your luck with Bacho’n kee Dunyaa. If even that is bit too much for you dumb uni-linguals, try Qaaidaa Baghdaadi….we need to get you burgers started with alif-bay in this case. And stop stuffing your face with baasi burgers at McDonalds. They stink.

Pooray mulk may dhamaakay ho rahae hai’n, aur in kambakhat maaro’n ko Harry Potter soojhee hae. Down with burgers!

Wow … thats a pretty lame comment by ‘Balma’ … I wonder if he/she had a bad day today or that’s his/her normal attitude towards other people all the time.

Anyway .. do any of you guys know any other major bookstore that is comparable to Liberty Books when it comes book variety and pricing?

Please Please do not support Piracy by buying reprints of the book elsewhere .
The launch was cancelled for the safety of the invitees and the organisers . And Yes , even though there is so much more at stake with the crisis the country is going through currently , please take a moment to think of the hardwork that Liberty had put in to organise an event like this . I know personally the hardwork and effort that went into it and its pretty much all gone down the bloody drain…..let alone the broken hearts of those little wizards out there who had special outfits organised for launch.
Yet I also know as disappointing as this is , we have avoided the cost of losing lives which would have been far greater.

hahahahahhaah at Balma’s comments. When I first read the topic, I was about to post something like Balma, but in a sarcastic tone. That this post will surely be attacked by a dose of religion and the poster will be called a Burger and will be made fun of. But I never knew that it would come so soon :)

I am beginning to find humour in this now. Balma keep up the good work, and soon enough everybody will just start ignoring your types.

I don’t think you have to be a certain age to enjoy a well told story. I know readers from age 12 to age 40 who enjoy the books. And as for Balma and similar comments…why does every post on KMB have to turn into an excuse to attack people and pigeonhole them into stereotypes? Burgers vs. Non-Burgers? Ex=pats vs. PK residents? I mean really, why can’t, for once, we be civilized??? Isn’t civility the mark of an educated nation?
