Where in Karachi # 106
On my way home from work yesternight (around midnight), I was treated to the rain in all its glory. AMAZING views EVERYWHERE. Even the flooded roads didn’t seem so bad at the time — seriously! It took me two hours to get home, as opposed to the usual 30 minutes max (because traffic is usually pretty thin by the time I get done with work-stuff), but it was ABSOLUTELY WORTH it, I tell you!!!
Here’s one picture that I took. The picture quality isn’t what it should be of course, but this is the best I could do with my camera (and my photography skills — more like the lack thereof, actually).
So yeah, can you guess where this is? : ) It shouldn’t be too hard, really, seeing as how all the landmarks, etc, are there.
After the picture above, I decided to be a tad “adventurous” and stuck my head out of the window to get a “clearer” view. Bad decision — for a second I thought my precious little sasta-camera was a goner, but it survived (thankfully!), so oh well! :-D
Needless to say, I absolutely LUUUUUUUUUURV thunderstorms!!! : )
The overhead bridge at Nazimabad Petrol Pump :) Snapped from inside your vehicle
For crying out loud, dudette! The pics u’ve uploaded are a 2304 x 1728 resolution. How about trimming them down to 500×375 or something?
if this is an exercise in “read my mind”, then i failed miserably. LOL. Is it Sh-Faisal though? :)
And I do NOT love thunderstorms. Almost peed in my pants at the sound of thunder yesterday … good thing it was raining; hahaha :-D
Naah, this is nowhere NEAR Nazimabad… OR Shahrah-e-Faisal, for that matter!
Hint: Near Clifton.
@ Imran: LOL yeah it’s a good thing it was raining then, no? :P Yaaaaar! The thunder last night was all WOOHOOO!!! I was at home at the time, reading and listening to music, and all of a sudden I heard this *BOOOOOM*!!! I put my book away, switched off the speakers, and listened. Amazing stuff!
Oh, and another hint: The green, blue and red lights in the pictures are not from cars.
The first picture was from inside the van. The second wasn’t — my camera almost drowned to death! :P
kahan hai ye jaga ?
Its Mai kolachi heading towards the port.
Honestly speaking tht is a terrible picture.
is it around boat basin the road tht goes from I.I towards boas basin
Yaaaaas!!! This is the Mai Kolachi road (towards Boat Basin).

This post was fun, a hi5 to u Bolshevik. Rock on!
I’m just curious … What book were you reading before the *BOOOOOM*!!
i think higher resolution pics in the last post “Behr-e-M.A.Jinnah Road” are much better.. those who have slow dialup connection should simply not click on the image if it takes time to load….
hmm! waisay wat are those blue an red lights?? which were supposed to be our clue ???
kh-e-jami leading to mai kolachi..
the green n red are from the hideous ‘art pieces’ they’ve installed on the light poles :D
@ Imran: I was reading “Manufacturing Consent: the political economy of the mass media” (Edwards and Chomsky).
