An Indian team of doctors is offering free artificial foot limbs to 400 deserving people in Karachi. Those interested can register at designated hospitals. Details here.

    Umar, that link would disappear after few days. Jang doesn’t keep archive more than a week.

    Afsos, Mahesh Bhatt can be given VISA instantly but not an Indian doctor. *sigh*

    The program is called Jaipur Foot Limb, a event started by the Rotarians of India to give deserving people a chance to live a normal life.

    Now, the Pakistani Rotarians have taken it a bit further and it is now a regular feature in our Rotary Calendar.

    Below is a part of a memo circulated among Pakistani Rotarians:

    You will be pleased to know that 18 Members Delegation has arrived from Jaipur Foot in connection with fixing of FREE Prosthesis, Free Calipers (Artificial Leg and Foot) to the deserving patients in Pakistan. This Project is of our own club in collaboration with Haswa (Healthcare and Social Welfare Association and Dow University of Health Sciences.

    The Club wishes to inform all the members that the Project Camp will function at Dow University and it is desired that the members interested to participate and see the Doctors in in action, are welcome to accompany, for which an arrangement of pick and drop has been made.

    As the visit to Dow University is fixed for Saturday 25th August,07 the members interested may reach PC at 10.00 A.M. from where the Bus will leave. It will be highly appreciated if your confirmation is given to the Office Secretary ( Ramesh Mana) by Thursday 23rd August,07 so as to make an adequate arrangements.

    For your further information Dr. D. R. Mehta, Ex-Governor State Bank of India and Chairman Jaipur Foot Project will be our Guest Speaker on Monday 27th August,07 at 1.00 P.M. at Pearl Continental Hotel.

    Members are requested kindly participate in large numbers.
